I use this tape primarily as a backing when doing repairs to plastics. Since this tape is made of real metal it conforms nicely to most surfaces while providing a significantly good structure to the repaired parts as they cure. Once the repair is complete, the tape can be removed without sticking to the repaired area (or the epoxy or cyanoacrylate glue used in the repair) and you'll barely know it was ever there in the first place. The low price belies the very good quality of this tape. The metal is thin (.003 to .004 ") yet it is relatively stiff in spite of its' thickness. The tape comes with a thin paper backing that you remove prior to adhering the tape (the adhesive isn't exposed until you're ready to apply the tape). This tape just outperforms masking, or the extra sticky fabric duct tape most of the time. I love this tape.

Full disclosure, I was given this item as part of Amazon's Vine program in exchange for an honest review, positive or negative. This is good aluminum foil tape. It holds it shape when you bend it. It tears by hand, instead of needing snips to cut it. It is very sticky and seals well. Once it is down, it seems to stay down, though only time will tell if it will stay down for good. This brand of tape is easy to work with except for the usual problem all foil tape seems to have-getting the backing off! I hate trying to get the backing of foil tape, and this brand is just as bad as any other brand. What a pain. That being said, the tape works great once you get the backing paper off. If someone made a tape that would separate from the backing paper easily, they would make a fortune.

Purpose for product: Aid in the process of home maintenance repair projects. Product inspection: The tapes paper backing peels off like most foil tapes, sometimes frustrating. The foils adhesive coating is adequate for the supporting the tapes intended purpose. Product Performance: So a friend ask for help to stop the invading mice into his RV. Armed with a roll of this foil product we taped over the mice entrance holes. The tape had to adhere to a number of substrates: metal, wood and plastic. Apparently, mice do not like the flavor of aluminum. A week later and all the tape is still firmly securing the holes. Summary: Tape performs a strong and resilient barrier against marauding mice by remaining firmly adhered in place. Good enough for me and the neighbor is off to buy a roll of this stuff.

I've been putting off building cold frames for three years now, because my beds are not square and getting the coldframe lids to fit right was too difficult for this non-carpenter me. I wound up using some of those stiff polycarbonate greenhouse panels to make the lids, but because I haven't had them affixed to the beds, they get knocked off by dogs and cats and other critters wanting to get at my seeds. I thought I'd give this tape a try, and I'm happy to say it was just the thing to accomplish what I needed to do. I just cut some 8" strips and used them to tape the greenhouse panel to the bed, which serves as a hinge. The tape sticks down very well, even to the wooden sides of my beds, and seals very tightly when I push it hard against the wood. Even if it only lasts long enough to get my winter-sown seeds started, I'm very happy with it.

I use this tape for a lot of little jobs, but seldom use it on my air conditioning vents or other air conditioning uses. It is very sticky and compared to the last roll of this tape I bought at the big box store seems considerably tougher. The tape seems to have a thin layer of mylar imbedded in the tape which vastly increases the tensile strength of the tape. With this tape it has always been a challenge to separate the tape from the backing, but I have figured out a simple way to get the backing off. I just wet the corner of the tape with my tongue and it will peel off when you scratch it with your finger nail to get it started. Once it gets started it is easy to peel it off. The price of the tape is very competitive with that sold elsewhere. Generally speaking this tape is high heat resistant so it won't curl up if in direct sunlight. Good product.

I have used this kind of tape for ages to seal vents and ductwork to making insectand rodent bariers on appliances, all the way down to fixing old remote control button contacts. In this instance I have been bvetter winterizing our well house with some old foam insulation board and this particular tape has adhered to the board with extremely strong results. I can't really tell if this is any thinner or thicker than any other that I have used previously, but it is strong and the price is far better than what I can get on any brands sold locally.

I ordered this roll of aluminum tape to help adhere the garage door insulation kit I recently received. The kit came with some small double face tape tabs that just aren't adhering all that well. I need to get the insulation stuck to the door better before I open it and have it all just fall off. This aluminum tape is the perfect solution for my problem. This tape sticks well to just about anything and stays adhered even in cold temperatures. Better still is that it's the same color as the insulation making for a very clean installation. I have used aluminum tape for different things over the years and this tape is as good as any I have purchased in the past.

I had to do some duct maintenance which required removing some of the ductwork. Retaping it with this tape made the job easy. The tape is 2 inches wide, which I find easier to work with. The tape stuck well and I didn't have any air bleed after sealing the ductwork with this tape. I was able to tear and separate it easily as well. Basically, it just works. Overall very pleased with this tape and would get it again.
