  • Very convenient for the photographer who wants to travel light
Style: Camera Strap
A few months back, I saw some photographers with a similar item (not sure if it was the same brand or not). I thought that it looked very convenient and easy to wear so I immediately went to Amazon as soon as I got home to try and find it. I looked at reviews for a couple of different brands for this type of neck strap and ultimately settled on this one. I have had this item for about two months now and have to say I really like it. Makes getting the camera in position for that next great shot super easy. It's very easy to install and is very sturdy. There's also a safety strap you can install to the camera in case the metal clasp fails (has not happened yet, but it does add an extra layer of security for me). I particularly like using this because of how it sits, the traditional neck strap that came with my DSLR always bugged me, and was not long enough to wear over one shoulder like this strap is. It has been very convenient for the times I decide I just want to take the body + one lens, without additional accessories and can ditch the camera bag. There is also a pocket on the shoulder pad, which I've used to store a lens cleaner. The only slight issue I have had with this is on the shoulder pad. I find that it tends to slide around quite a bit, even with the non-slip grip underneath. It's not enough of an issue to knock the review down a star, since the strap itself stays put just the shoulder bit slides around. ... show more

  • GREAT PRODUCT
Style: Camera Strap
It has been said that the harness moves around on the strap and never stays in place. That may have been the case when they first came out with this product but since then this harness has been sewn to the strap to keep it from slipping. As for the screw coming loose, the one attached to where the tripod goes I find the BEST way, for me at least, is to affix the metal plate so that when you are carrying the camera at your side this plate is oriented in line with the strap (straight up and down). When I say in-line I mean that the plate is pointing upwards in the same direction were it meets the hook. I find the strap to be a very comfortable fit and it is adustable to suit one's height. I am 5'5" and it works fine for me. As for the equipment I have. I carry a Sony A7RII with a Sony 24-70 f/2.8 GM lens. I find that the strap holds up rather nicely to it with no problems whatsoever. The plate could be attached to the tripod; however, it is somewhat cumbersome when hooking the camera up to a tripod unless you remove the strap first. When it comes to the safety strap I hook it to the camera itself rather than hooking it to the plate. That's just my preference just in case the screw on the plate does come off or the screw holding the the hook to the strap breaks this way the body of my camera will catch the camera keeping it from falling to the ground. It will work if you hook the safety strap to the plate itself but I feel safer hooking it to the camera body since I feel that, that is more trustworthy. My kit only came with one tether safety strap. As for the zipper compartment I find that a plus because with my camera I have to carry several back up batteries with me because Sony A7RII is not known for its battery life and rather than carry them in my pocket the strap makes a nice place for this. Also, because I have this zipper compartment I find that I do not need to carry a camera bag around with me since I keep the camera slug over my shoulder throughout all the time I am or am not taking photos. For the price you can't go wrong with this camera strap setup. I'm sure it has some flaws but I have yet to find anything that is terribly wrong for the price. In time I'm sure things will start going bump in the night but that is the same with anything you buy. If you want something to last considerably longer then you're going to pay for it but for the price of this strap it is worth taking the chance on it and, in my case, it has worked out thus far. One last thing. I find this strap my better than the sony strap that came with the camera. It not only makes taking picutres more enjoyable but feel more comfortable when carrying your camera/lens around all day taking pictures. I LOVE THIS STRAP. Like some of the others I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. Thank you. ... show more

  • Comfortable shoulder strap
Style: Camera Strap
I've had this strap for a couple years now and I love it. I use a Canon 7DII and trust this strap to hold it without worries of dropping it. I enjoy hiking and this strap is good for keeping the camera at my side or behind my back most of the time. The only problems I've had with hiking are when I am climbing up rocky terrain and need to lean forward to use my arms to climb. That said, I think it does it's job most of the time when I am not climbing up rocks and leaning forward the whole time. It is also easy to adjust and I like that I can easily make it larger/smaller depending on the clothes I am wearing (summer tank tops vs. winter coats). I wear mostly tank tops in the summer and am often hiking around western Colorado and Utah where it is really hot and dry and I end up sweating a lot. Most straps bother my neck and shoulders while hiking but I like this one because I have very little to no irritation from the strap. The non-stick inner surface isn't uncomfortable on bare skin and the rest of the strap doesn't really bother me. Like I said, it doesn't really move around once you put it in place. My only issue is that the rubber on the mount has been partially rubbed off. I blame the fact that I was using a Sigma 150-600mm lens (~8 lbs with camera) that causes the mount to twist due to the weight. When I use smaller lenses such as my Canon 17-55mm I have no issues with twisting or movement from the mount after I initially tighten it. That being said, I'm a bit paranoid about my camera gear so I often test the mounting screw during long hikes but aside from the big lens I don't see it moving. The mounting plate is metallic and seems sturdy. I've read about some people having problems with the back-up strap but I treat it as just that- a last resort back-up in case you accidentally undo the main mount (which has never happened to me). Overall I like this strap and prefer it over normal neck straps that are not meant to be used on shoulders and cause the camera to move around as you walk. It's very stable and feels sturdy and trustworthy. Don't overload it with a huge camera/lens and you should be fine. ... show more
