I have Morton’s neuroma’s on both feet. Had surgery decades ago. Now having trouble with my feet because I lost my custom made orthotic inserts but when I put/ slipped my right foot into these shoes it felt like a Cinderella fit!!! I dress for comfort now days & feel like I can wear these shoes & color with my dress casual clothes & still look nice & appropriate even for church! I see this is a frequently returned item, but to each his own because love these shoes! I went up a half size to 9.5 from 9 and got them in wide at the advice of a podiatrist, fearing I would swim in them. Instead, my toes have room to spread which makes it feel like my feet are supported in a cushiony platform. These are the most comfortably supportive shoes I have ever owned. I didn’t realize shoes could feel this good on my feet. I hadn’t realized that when my toes didn’t have enough room they were turning my feet into stumps and I was working so much harder to walk. Some reviewsers have not liked the firm, high heel support in the back. In my past experiencewhen running shoes are high around the ankle they irritate my ankle bones, but the firmer curved heel on these Torin 8’s is very comfortable and helps my ankle stabilize. I couldn’t be happier that I bought these shoes. And I thought the pink and yellow soles would be loud in a “here come my shoes” effect, but I really like the combination, and find it cheerful and pleasing. ... show more

Love these! Bought them for a trip to South American and they did be as pitifully! Great arch support, almost like a Birkenstock and a wonderful wide toe box. Only complaint is that the right is slightly smaller than the left and I didn’t have time to exchange, but they broke in fine and it is no longer noticeable. I am slowly leaning into the barefoot shoe game, two years ago I jumped into too fast and had a year of foot pain to show for it. So, I use these Altra's for walking a few miles a day about 4 times a week, I switch off with New Balance 580's and Brooks (old Ghosts). Altra's are not as squishy as the Brooks Ghost nor as arch-supportive as the New Balance. What I love is how connected to the ground I feel with enough cushion to walk and not worry about foot pain. The wide toe box is amazing, I especially love the difference in feel for uphill walking flexibility, I feel the whole of my toes and ball of foot fully working as I push off with each step. I find these very comfortable but not squishy/cloud-like/springy, again it promotes a more grounded and secure footing feel. Personally, I like the style, they fit true to size for me and adore the blue color. Will buy again, thanks for making these. ... show more

    • Good shoes just not good on my injured knee
These are good shoes offering a zero gravity and open toe box which is what I needed for my feet. Unfortunately though they felt good on my foot my injured knee did not liked the zero gravity. But they are good shoes.

    • Beautiful, volume a little low for high arches, loose in the heel.
Very well made. The volume was not high enough for my arches. A 10 was too short, a 10.5 too long. Altras are always loose in the heel for me, even though laced all the way. The toe bed is nice and wide, with good lock in the midsole. Color was super! Too bad that I have to return.

    • Heel fit is uncomfortable, Not like Asics or Saucony

I like the roomy toe box and the cushioned sole. Unfortunately, the heel is very uncomfortable (presses painfully on Achilles tendon area) and slips unless I overtighten laces which makes it too tight over top of foot. I tried putting a heel pad in back and that decreased the slipping but pressure on the back and sides of heel is still too painful. For comparison, I normally wear an 8 wide in Asics or an 8 in Saucony and I bought this in an 8.5 (an 8 in Altra would be too short). The heel part of shoe is taller and stiffer than Asics or Saucony. I should have sent these back, but I've worn them enough outside that I can't. ... show more
