UPDATE: I added a star after wearing them all day for 2 days. No problem areas, no rubbing on my bunion. The toebox is adequate for that without going to the wide (which I did try earlier and way too wide for my foot). Good cushioning, better than before on my vrs. 6. The midfoot is still wider than the older version, but has caused no issue with my walking. They do run much larger than my 6's, as far as length, so I had to move down to the 9.5, which is actually my 'real' size. ORIGINAL REVIEW: So far, I am not impressed. Pros: thicker cushioning. Cons: These fit totally different than my many other Torin's. They are a 1/2 size larger, so I had to go from my typical size 10 to a 9.5. The toe box is not the 'original' Altra, which is now typical - I don't know if Altra even makes the 'original' anymore. If they do, I don't see it. This shoe is heavier, and the midsole is sloppy - it does not curve in to keep the midfoot as stable. I have had 4's, 5's, and 6 versions. I am comparing it to the 6, which so far was my favorite. We will see......Wearing them inside for now.

Nice shoe but the back heel/heel tab is very stiff and tall. It ripped up the backs of my feet which Altra shoes typically don’t do. Wear thick socks! I need to return because of this. This being said if you like a rigid heel in your shoes this might be the one for you!

This is my 4th pair of Altra’s and my 3rd pair of Torins. This pair is my favorite so far. They were comfortable from the first time I put them on. My teo previous pairs were comfortable except for the tongues. They were very stiff and hard and cut into my ankle. They have redesigned the tongue and now they are soft and comfortable. I have plans to order a second pair in a different color.

I love this brand and model. I wear them till they are ready to become everyday shoes, and get another Tirin as my running shoe. I especially love the big toe box. I almost feel like I have on no shoes.
