I umpire 9-18u - I have the previous model and while being good, this new model is much more protective. With the older model, taking a ball to the helmet would leave my ears ringing. This model offers much greater protection and provides you with he confidence to take a shot to the helmet. The center of gravity is much better balanced as well which relieves any neck stain from having weight only on the front of your head. I transitioned from a traditional mask after taking 2 shots, on to the side of my jaw and the other to the side of my throat off a checked swing fouls ball inside. Since changing to a bucket, i will never go back to a traditional mask! ... show more
