  • Works as needed to add a pickup to my acoustic guitar.
It would be improved if the MFG would add a wider "groove" to the area the guitar strap will attach.

  • Great End Pin Jack
This jack worked out just great for me. I wanted to modify my acoustic guitar with a mounted pickup. I looked at quite a few end pin jacks and finally took a chance on this one. My favorite feature was the back shell that would help support the cable inside the guitar. As and R&D electronics tech I thought this was a pretty important feature even when buried inside the body of the guitar to help relieve strain on the cable. It turns out this jack was perfect in my situation. I drilled a larger hole for the end pin, wired up the new jack and tightened it all in place. OK, so it was a bit more work than that but not much too much more. I wish I had done this years ago. Two things to keep in mind: 1) This jack is stereo. I was wiring for mono but I took my time and verified the two connections out of three I needed before doing any soldering. 2) The JackTight I bought was not helpful on this jack. The JackTight didn't fit properly into the connector end properly (I think a connector use not a JackTight issue) and it wasn't necessary anyway because there was a small hole drilled into the side of the treads for a small wrench or screwdriver to hold the jack while tightening. That hole worked out great and was placed exactly where it needed to be. If I had to do over again, I'd buy this same jack. ... show more

  • Work good...last long time.
Product is as advertised. Great way to conceal evidence of electric "Doo Dads" on an acoustic guitar. Installation is irreversible. Old "taper press-fit" endpin needed to be removed and a 31/64" hole drilled in its place to mount this endpin jack. This was started from a 1/4" bit graduating in 1/32" increments to prevent chipping, and possible damage to the end-block. I chose to stop at 31/64 rather than taking it to the nominal 1/2"; the fit was just a little less sloppy, makes for a cleaner installation. An under-saddle piezo was installed and soldered directly to the tip/sleeve conductors on the jack, leaving the ring unterminated. No other internal preamp / electronics are installed here, so an external Hi-Z acoustic preamp will be necessary for practical use. Installation was easy. This was my first time installing this item, and went very smooth. ... show more

  • Good stereo strap jack
Precisely what I needed to replace a broken stereo end pin jack for a Fender Acoustic Electric guitar. The pins were a bit close together, requiring a bit more precision when soldering. Didn’t use the sleeve that came with it. Strap button seems pretty standard; although, when used with a nice leather strap, it didn’t seem quite deep enough for comfort. Because of the tight fit, the strap already seems to unscrew the strap button slightly during use. It doesn’t affect the tightness of the plug though since it’s held in place with separate washers. ... show more

  • Good Quality
This is a standard end pin jack. It installed easily into my acoustic guitar with no surprises. It is very good quality. I am using it with a Fishman Sonicore under saddle transducer. I was surprised that it works pretty well directly into an amplifier with no preamp. The best part is there's very little noise perhaps due in part to the metal cover over the terminals on the end pin jack. I assume this helps shield them from interference. I am a bit confused that the description says you can tighten it from the outside of the guitar. This would be nice if true but I didn't find that to be the case. ... show more

  • Great Quality Resulted In Great Sound!
I used this item for an acoustic guitar pickup. It came complete with all the washers and nuts I needed. It is designed for a variety of different length settings for different sized guitars. The female 1/4" connection was tight - a good fit for the 1/4" male pin jack, which resulted in clear sound- no feedback, cracking or popping. I would definitely buy this again! ... show more
