  • Great Streaming Device
Configuration: Fire TV Stick 4K Max
I've used several streaming devices over the years, and this Fire TV Stick has been one of the best. Setup was quick and easy, the interface is fast, and apps load without any issues. The picture quality looks great, and the remote is simple to use. Streaming movies, shows, and live TV has been smooth with very little buffering. For the price, it offers a lot of features and works exactly as expected. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade and an easy recommendation. Five stars! ... show more

  • The Ultimate Streaming Upgrade for Quality Nerds
Configuration: Fire TV Stick 4K Max
If you care about how your movies actually look and sound, this is the best streaming stick on the market. Most people buy these just for Netflix, but if you have a solid home theater or a custom media setup, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is a beast. Picture & Sound (Dolby Vision & Atmos) The support for Dolby Vision is top-tier. It handles the colors perfectly—everything is vibrant, the blacks are deep, and it doesn't have that "washed out" look you see on cheaper devices. When you pair it with a Dolby Atmos soundbar, the audio is incredibly immersive. It feels like the sound is moving all around you, which makes a huge difference for action movies or sports. The Jellyfin Experience This is where the 4K Max really shines for me. I use Jellyfin to stream my own movie library, and this device handles it like a champ. Direct Play: It’s powerful enough to play high-bitrate 4K files without stuttering. No Glitches: Because it supports the right "profiles" for Dolby Vision, I don't get those weird purple or green tint issues that happen on older hardware. Audio Passthrough: It correctly sends the Atmos data straight to my speakers, so I’m getting the actual theater-quality sound, not a compressed version of it. Performance With the new Wi-Fi 6E support, the connection is rock solid. I haven't seen a "loading" circle once since I plugged it in. Everything is snappy, apps open instantly, and the interface is much smoother than the older versions. Bottom Line: If you just want to watch YouTube, any stick will do. But if you want Dolby Vision that actually pops, Atmos that fills the room, and a device that can handle a Jellyfin server without breaking a sweat, this is the one to get. It works good, it's fast, and the quality is unbeatable for the price. ... show more

  • Fast, fluid and excellent 4K quality - totally worth it
Configuration: Fire TV Stick 4K Max
Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is the best I have ever tried to turn any TV into a fast and complete Smart TV. It works super fluid, opens the apps fast and the quality in 4K looks excellent with very sharp colors. Controlling with Alexa is very practical, you can search for content or open apps with your voice alone. I also really liked that it hardly gets stuck and the WiFi is very stable, ideal for watching movies or IPTV without interruptions. The only "negative" thing is that the main screen has a lot of advertising and content from Amazon, but outside of that the performance is excellent. Overall, it is a powerful, fast and very easy-to-use device. It is totally worth the price 👍 ... show more

  • Good Stuff! Value for Money.
Configuration: Fire TV Stick 4K Max
So easy to use. No issues migrating accounts to Fire TV Stick. It was so easy. Literally took me all of 8 mns to set up my Prime Video, YouTube, Disney, Netflix accounts and as I type, I am watching the freebie channel Pluto on my Fire TV stick. "Space 1999" straight from 1977. How's that for some fun nostalgia. Hard to believe we ever wore such embarrassing clothes! Anyway, back to the Fire TV Stick. It comes with a remote. The stick itself has an HDMI plug in for your monitor or tv and the other end is usb c - power block. They give you an extender for the HDMI in case you need some extra length to plug and that really helped me. But you will need an electric outlet close enough to your monitor or tv in order to be able to plug in the power block into your electric outlet and also the HDMI input into your monitor or tv source. They also provide 2 batteries for the remote. Right out of the box you'll be up and going. I love the ambient feature. I hope they add some cityscapes and more ambient landscapes. One can even add their own pictures if they like. It's so relaxing to be listening to Audible and have the ambient landscape on. I also love the Alexa support. I don't use "Alexa" as my wake word. I use "Echo," but my Fire TV Stick remote had no problem responding to my "Echo" wake word - no training necessary. Bada Boom, bada bing. You know that moment of dread you have when you have to set up any machine...well, you needn't put yourself through the anxiety. Fire TV Stick does the ugly work for you. The streaming quality is awesome. And considering I've watched at least four different movies since I got it yesterday and haven't paid a dime for those movies...I'm gonna say the Fire TV Stick has been a great value and it is just now coming up on 24 hours that I received it. 4 movies in and delivery was same day prompt! I waited so long to get one. Why I waited, I'll never know. I love my Fire TV Stick. Oh, and did I mention you can take your stick with you? Might not work in all countries. But as a dogsitter I'll just bring my stick to my client's house and don't have to worry about what I want to watch regardless of my client's programming. They don't have to pay for any movies I might watch. Awesome. ... show more

  • Instalation is not always a slam dunk!
Configuration: Fire TV Stick 4K Max
Setup was pretty straightforward however the cable betweem the Power Module and the device was a bit short. Luckely I had a longer one leftover from the defunct unit we just replaced. The remote paired up with the Streaming unit without any issues. But the eazy peazy install did not happen as it kept asking for my Prime Pin Number. Fortunately I remembered the one I had established before (you may not have this problem if you have not already established a Pin). I was having issues entering the Pin so I ask Alexa for assistance. She tried however nothing She suggested was working. It was asking for a Pin every time I tried to do anything in the Settings, After a number of power resets and a few bad words I was able to go in and turn off the Parental Guidance. Now the unit allowed me to make changes and add our Sound Bar function to the Remote. This unit is definitely faster than the old unit and operates in a similar fashon the the old unit. I did have a problem with some of the Amazon Apps that I did not need. It seems that you cannot remove them from the Task Bar however I was able to rearrange them so that the ones I use, all the time, were up at the head of the line. I am still working to install some of my missing apps and I have not been able to get the Bing Browser to work properly however I am sure I will make it happen eventually. I am convinced that this is a good replacement for our failed Fire Stick, however there are always issues that come up in these Installs and unfortunately Alexa is not totally on top of things. I hope this makes things easier for someone else. ... show more

  • Great device, but may not be for Plex users
Configuration: Fire TV Stick 4K Max
For various reasons, I decided it was time to at least try a different streaming device, and I figured a FireTV Stick would be the obvious solution. I wanted a responsive device, and to try to ensure this, I figured I might as well go for the top model of the FireTV Stick, so I ordered the 4K Max. This device does not at all disappoint in that regard! It is very snappy while navigating through the UI and the various streaming apps I utilize, so I'm very pleased with that. It comes with a short HDMI extender, which is a great touch because it makes using a "stick" form device such as this not interfere with being in the way of your other HDMI ports. Make sure you use the power adapter it came with (or a USB adapter capable of outputting 2 Amps) because you will run in to problems quickly if it doesn't detect enough amperage. I rather wish it came with a longer cable, as it is not uncommon these days for a TV to be wall mounted, but that's just my own opinion. Setup is very easily done and has nice guidance every step of the way. Even getting the remote to work with my TV was super easy and included in the first time setup guidance. The remote ended up only being able to control my TV's power and volume, which is not a big deal, and I'm sure most individuals who buy this intend to use it as the main source of media to play on their TV. Streaming from various services is an absolute blast and I've had no issues there. I rather wish there were more big name options for aftermarket remotes, it seems like there are for every other major streaming device, but on the other hand I've never personally heard of anyone's FireTV remote having issues. If you have a non-smart TV or an aging smart TV that is getting laggy, the FireTV Stick will serve you well for years to come, go for it! The FireTV Stick 4K Max also has an option for a service that allows you to play games from your PC on your TV, I am intrigued to try the trial of that at some point just to see how it is. ***For Plex users:**** This is in no way, as far as I can tell, any fault of the device itself. Certain movies will get stuck and after a while make an error pop up, and certain shows will result in the audio playing but the screen being stuck black when the auto play starts the next episode. I have tried everything, and I mean everything. Everything else has never given me this issue. I have gone so far as factory resetting the FireTV Stick, rebuilding my media libraries, cold starting every device on my network, and gone through every single setting in the Plex app. This has resulted in my second issue with the autoplay being seemingly resolved, but again I do not think it is the device itself, or anything on my network, because I have installed what is essentially a media player that can connect to network shares and everything plays with no issue that way. So, yes, it seems to be an issue with the Plex app itself. Unfortunately, it seems forums are full of Plex users experiencing such things on FireTV devices. Again I cannot fault the device or Amazon for this in any way. Unfortunately though it leaves me trying to decide if I should just continue using the player application on my FireTV Stick, which is connected to the only TV I use, and that is mostly what I use when I'm watching anything. If I do that, I have very little reason to run Plex, but I like its layout and I've put a lot of time and effort over the years in to getting it just the way I like it. I can hope that an upcoming update fixes things, I could buy a Plex Pass and see if this improves things, I could switch to Emby and pay their monthly charge, or I could purchase a different streaming device.....it's a tough spot.... ... show more

  • Great Upgrade and Works Perfect with Alexa
Configuration: Fire TV Stick 4K Max
I bought the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max in November 2025 because my old one was not working properly anymore, and I’m really glad I upgraded. One of my favorite features is how well it connects with Alexa. I can use voice commands to search for movies and shows, which makes everything so much easier. I like that I can search by actor, type of movie, or even what happens in the movie. It saves time and makes finding something to watch quick and simple. The picture quality is also very good. The 4K Ultra HD looks clear and sharp, and everything streams smoothly. The sound is also great and makes watching movies more enjoyable. It was also very easy to set up. I had it up and running in no time without any issues. I also like that it connects with my Echo Show 5, which makes it even more convenient to use with Alexa around my home. Everything works together really well. Another thing I like is that I can control my smart home devices right from the TV. I can use Alexa to check things like the weather, play music, or even see camera views without stopping what I’m watching. It’s very convenient and makes everything feel more connected. Overall: This was a great upgrade for me. It’s fast, easy to use, and works perfectly with Alexa. I would recommend it if you’re looking for a better streaming device with great picture, smart features, and added convenience. ... show more

  • Amazing Powa
Configuration: Fire TV Stick 4K Max
5 stars — 8+ years and still going strong I’ve used my Amazon Fire Stick for 8+ years with zero issues. It’s survived tons of storms and power outages here in Alabama and still works like day one. I prefer it over Roku — it’s more accessible, way more user-friendly, and Alexa voice search actually works. Interface is simple, apps load fast, and I’ve never had a problem finding what I need. For daily streaming, reliability, and ease of use, it’s the best. 5/5. ... show more
