  • Great movie for kids
I bought this for my 2 year-old son who loves anything with lights and sirens. It was an immediate hit. The production isn't great, but he doesn't seem to mind. Unlike some movies about firefighting, this one actually shows a LOT of firetrucks, lights and sirens and all. They also show the equipment firefighters use, and there's some footage of real firemen putting out real fires. The construction part isn't as good, but he loves watching all of those big trucks working. If you have a little one who is into firetrucks and/or construction trucks, this is definitely a good pick. I doubt it would entertain any kid, though, that didn't already have that interest. ... show more

  • not a sophisticated production, but kids love it
While the sound quality and actors (or maybe they are real firefighters trying to act?) leave a lot to be desired, this video is fantastic. My kids were glued to it. It describes the purpose of the firefighting equipment and includes demonstrations of their use. This is a primitive video, so you cannot skip scenes. You can only fast-forward. The construction video is nice too-- definitely entertaining and educational for the little ones. ... show more

  • My 3 year old loves this.
This movie is made for children. It might seem odd and even a little goofy for adults, but what child doesn't love that? It really takes an approach that kids can learn from. This isn't a cartoon, or fun movie, its an educational movie, and one that amazes me everytime my 3 year old watches it, and learns from it. He can tell me about the parts of the truck, what the firemen where, and not to be scared when they have all their gear on. He can watch it over and over, this a boy who watches cartoons. The quality looks a little amature, and the sound isn't great, but the little ones love it. ... show more

  • educational
My grandkid loves these so much that I hear it even when its not playing. The farm film is informative and very interesting for kids to learn about farm life and the fire engine is always a great child dream.

  • Fire Engine video terrible
There are two videos on one DVD here. The construction video is pretty good but the fire engine video is terrible. It is basically a couple of firefighters from the East Coast giving an overview of their equipment; almost a new firefighter orientation video. BORING! My 9-month old was over it in about 3 minutes. Who wants to sit and listen to some guy in turn-outs drone on about the different sizes of fire hose? Kids want to see the big impressive engines and equipment. What a dud. ... show more
