The umbrella is extremely heavy, not light weight at all, and is extremely hard to close. The material is thick and sticks out once you tie the umbrella up.. And it's impossible to close-the auto close works fine, but the handle stays up as if the umbrella is open. I hurt my are lowering the handle.... returned...

This umbrella held up well during heavy rains with some wind. I love its inverted design that sort of holds the water inside. It's even big enough for my husband (6 ft 185 lbs) and I (5 ft 108 lbs) to share. The reflective stripe is a great safety feature too. The big CON for me is it's very hard to pull it towards the handle to fully close! Maybe it was just this particular umbrella I got.

This spring-loaded umbrella is a great product. However, when I say spring-loaded, I MEAN spring-loaded! Opening it up by pushing the button, I was shocked at the force with which it opened. It scared me a little bit, and I'm glad there was nothing and no one nearby, because it definitely springs open forcefully! It's a good-sized umbrella for either rain or sun protection. There are no built-in wind vents. It does close in reverse to keep the rain from dripping down. However, the "close" function is why I gave it 4-stars instead of 5. Pushing the button on the handle closes it partially, but to fully retract it you have to push the umbrella back into the base. This requires quite a bit of force. The springs may wear over time and make it easier, but new and only slightly used, I found it very difficult to close on my own. It requires two hands and pushing it against my stomach or against a table or firm surface to close it. I'm a bit of a weakling, but it doesn't seem to me it should be that hard to close an umbrella.

I’m not a large person, but I believe this umbrella would be a tight fit for two people, but it’s ample coverage for one. It measures 38” across the bottom with a good curve when it’s open. The shaft is 22” long. The umbrella opens and closes with the push of a button but like my previous auto-open/close umbrella must be “reloaded” before it will auto-open again. It takes quite a bit of arm strength to reload the umbrella by pushing the top of the umbrella and handle towards each other until there is a click. Alternatively, you can rest the top of the umbrella on the ground or other solid surface and lean on the handle. I ordered the blue one which is a very pretty color, but when you are underneath, all you see is the black underside. The umbrella does seem sturdy enough to handle strong winds. It has substantial weight compared to other umbrellas I’ve used – also typical for an auto-open/close – but it is under a pound at approximately 15.5 oz. I haven’t been able to test it in the rain, but it did provide good shade from the sun. I’m hopeful that the reverse fold will keep most of the water contained, though the fold won’t hold very much if it is really wet. I’m also letting it air outside since it has a plasticky odor.

This is of such good quality. However, the automatic open/close mechanism is very stiff. When you press the button, the umbrella will open very fast making it dangerous if you're not careful. At the same time, when you want to close it, you have to apply a lot of pressure for it to click into place. I wouldn't recommend for people who don't want to deal with the extra force you need to apply to close it. I almost always have to close it against my body, two hands on the other side.

I've wanted a reverse umbrella for a while. This one is pretty well made, and I love the color. It hasn't rained yet since I got it, but there is no indication that it won't keep me dry. It's a good size - plenty big enough to cover me and anything I might be carrying. It may be a little small to cover two adults, though. I definitely recommend this umbrella, but not necessarily for everyone. First of all, the automatic open feature is very forceful to the point where it could hurt someone who was in the way. Like, damage an eye, create a bruise, knock over a small child forceful. Just keep this in mind when opening. Also, I wouldn't recommend it for someone who is weak or frail, for the same reason, but also because it takes some effort to retract it after you close it. The best way is probably to put the top on the floor and lean on it. I'm guessing the spring mechanism will loosen up over time. Maybe. Finally, it was a little awkward to get it back in its sleeve. Another consideration for anyone who has dexterity issues. Tip: get all the spokes of the umbrella into the end of the sleeve and then twist the umbrella while pulling the sleeve down. Again, I am loving this umbrella, and I do recommend it but probably only for older children and non-senior adults who can keep a good grip on the handle when opening the umbrella and who have the strength and coordination to get it closed back up. And just make sure you've got a wide berth when you open it to protect other people and possessions.

I have another inside out umbrella that has the c handle on it but is the long style. I LOVE that umbrella for both rain and sun but when packing for a day hike or a field trip the length makes it a little unruly. I was so excited to see this one in the compact version. It is easy to open, just a push of the button like my other one. It is harder to close right now as the spring is new and stiff. It is hard to get compressed enough to get back into the case but I'll probably loose that pretty quickly like I have with every other umbrella I have ever owned. It has the same amount of UV protection that my long one does. I cannot attest to it's rain capabilities with the folding the rain in or how well it works in the rain period as we are in July during a heat wave but it looks like it will perform the same or possibly a little better than the long one. If you have been thinking about an inside out umbrella get this one, you will not regret it!
