I have only been using this for a few weeks so at this time I can not speak to how long it will last but the device is very well made and is completely sturdy. Everything is exactly as described. My basil is now about 4" tall and other herbs I planted are coming up as well. Remote control with the app is nice but not very useful. They say you use it to keep a growth log but I haven't found it yet. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is their customer service. I emailed them asking them how to acquire replacement supplies such as nutrients, grow sponges and mold rings and they simply won't respond. I have tried several different units and this one is the best. Don't waste your money on Aerogarden, they are way over-priced and they are not compatible with any other unit. I have 8 of these and a great crop of cherry tomatoes & bok choy.

This is my second purchased hydroponic system. I bought it because it is supposed to work with wi-fi and had an adjustable light. Unfortunately, when I downloaded the app it would not connect to my wi-fi. The light don't all work. I can only get the red ones to turn on. The rest of it works fine, and all except two of the pods sprouted the tomato seeds I planted. Some of the tomato plants don't look as strong as I'd hoped, but I don't know if this is from the poor lighting or the seed. I have an iDeer Life system that I'm using for my 3rd year. It's still going strong, the lights are outstanding, the pump is great, but it seems to be discontinued. I think I'd recommend that someone wanting to do hydroponics invest in a better system. I don't believe you have to get the most expensive unit available, by any means, but look for great reviews compared to the number of reviews. Look for those satisfied ratings and which parts cause problems. In fairness, I have not tried to contact the company that made this product because I've been using it for over a month. ... show more

This is my first hydroponic garden and being two weeks in, everything seems to be growing nicely. I purchased these two systems on sale, so my value for money rating is based off that. It was very easy to assemble. I was slightly confused about how much nutrients I should be adding at a time, so I just kept adding the included solution in increments until the germination numbers matched the range on the bottle. I would like to know how I am able to purchase additional nutrients from the company to ensure my garden stays healthy. Another thing, I was not able to smoothly add these units to Alexa. As there is no device recognition under the name. It asked that I add it under something similar to be able to use the app with the devices. I found it to be too much of a hassle and not needed, though preferred for water level and nutrition updates. Overall, I have had a positive experience so far for my first time. ... show more
