I received one of these as a gift about 12 years ago. It wore out about 2 years ago. I have had at least 6-7 various wine pullers since then. None of them lasted several weeks to a few months. I was willing to spend a few bucks to get something of decent quality. No such luck. There is a dearth of good quality corkscrews at a reasonable price out there ( for me that's $ 12 to $ 40 ) I had a hard time finding this, even on AMZN. I had to google "Wine Lady" before I found this. I was a bit suspicious based on some of the reviews indicating that the newer versions are not as high quality. My 4 star rating is based on apparent build quality and, the fact that I have not used it yet! It seems to be great and just like the one I wore out pulling out a zillion corks. I hope to upgrade this to 5 Stars after I use it for a month of so. ... show more

I love the way this looks on my bar cart but it takes some practice to use. It doesnโ€™t work exactly like similar corkscrews so read the directions!! I know that sounds ridiculous given that itโ€™s a corkscrew but until I read them I was considering sending it back. After a few tries it works just fine. ... show more

Adorable and I am sure it would work fine. But it is really too BIG for my needs so I returned it. May reorder in the red as I really loved it. If you have a bar or counter to display it, maybe the huge size wouldnโ€™t be a prob. But I would have stored in drawer. All Alessi products are top notch and beautifully designed. A good corkscrew that makes it easy to get a cork out of a bottle of wine. This is the second one I've purchased and they do last longer than most other corkscrews. However, this particular corkscrew doesn't allow for easy removal of the cork from the corkscrew after extracting the cork from the bottle.
