The FLEX is equipped with Alen’s True HEPA-Heavy-Smoke filter, best for capturing airborne allergens, dust, orders, pet smells, fur household odors PLUS bacteria and mold spores and has over 2 lbs. of activated carbon to absorb smoke, cooking odors, chemicals and other VOC’s from the air. The medical grade H13 True HEPA filter captures 99.99% bacteria, aerosolized viruses, and airborne particles larger than 0.1 microns. Built with comfort in mind, the BreatheSmart FLEX is perfectly tuned for maximum airflow with minimum noise output for an easy to live with and peaceful environment. We are city cats, and we now live in an urban area with lots of cars and busses. We aren't happy with the amount of dust and housekeeping we have to do here. Mom says our fur is a problem too, shedding, and all of that. Mom kept getting ads for Molekule on her iPhone, but it was SO expensive. There wouldn't have been anything left for cat toys if she had bought those. Then we read the reviews! And we saw how wonderful Alen air Purifiers were, and how well they performed compared to Molekule and many other brands. So we told our mom. She now has two, one in the living room and one in our bedroom. So now when we wake up in the morning Mom's eyes aren't red, and she has a lot more energy to play with us.     • Stay away from this cheap product!

First off let me start this by saying I have owned several other air purifiers, and understand about white noise. I purchased the flex for the bedroom after reading about Alen. It arrived today and the packaging was ok. I opened the box, installed the filter, and plugged it in. I cycled through the speeds and immediatey smelled a chemical type smell. I then noticed on fan speed 2 the motor would slightly rev up and down causing the device to make a very annoying whine noise. I then read the smell is an ongoing issue. Something I also learned was Alen filters are not true HEPA. They are not even rated as HEPA, and there is no AHAM rating. I already boxed this piece of junk back up and will be sending it back to amazon tomorrow. What a waste of 400 dollars. Lesson learned I guess. With this company you don’t get what you pay for. I should also add that I called the company for help and had to leave a voicemail that is yet to be returned. Find another reputable company that is true HEPA! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. lacking in the one feature I now wish it had: the smart air quality sensor. I wrote a lengthy review for its big brother and we liked it so much I ordered this smaller unit for our bedroom. I assumed the blue power light implied the smart sensor was baked in to the features but it turns that’s not the case. It’s not a huge deal breaker but for the price, I think it should have had it. It would be nice to know how polluted the room may be, and how long it would take for the filter to clean it up as was the case with the larger unit. But the packaging was great. All the corners and edges were protected by tape. Only time will tell if the fan holds up, so we will see! Update: 48+ hrs of running now and this thing is showing some results. So far so good but it is a bit ironic to see so much dust accumulate on top of an air filter. Update: added a shot of this thing 5 months later. Pretty nuts. Not sure if I am happy or sad. Happy that it’s sucking up everything that normally would just settle somewhere. Sad to see they there is so much crud on the room - somehow from somewhere. ... show more

I have been doing my research on air purifiers for sometime now because I smoke in one room in my house and I want to eliminate that odor from traveling to other areas of the house and to minimize the smell of stale smoke in the room I do smoke in. Upon researching for weeks, looking through hundreds of reviews for al different brands, I found this air purifier which just happened to also be on sale for 50% off. After reading everything and watching videos of the effectiveness of how this air purifier works I had to order it because in the video I watched it showed that in a smoke filled room it could clear out the smoke in 3 seconds compared to other brands which take 30 seconds minimally. So I went ahead and ordered it and it came on two days. It was veryyyyy easy to set up, and is also very quiet. The highest setting is still quieter than the lowest setting on my actual fan. LET ME TELL YOU, THIS BABY WORKS. This air purifier completely takes all the smoke out of the room along with the majority of the cigarette stale smell that is left also. Now I will say because the smell of cigarettes are embedded in our furniture and paint it does not COMPLETLEY remove it but it eliminates it probably about by 80-90 percent. I am beyond happy with this product especially because it does eliminate from the cigarette smoke being able to linger through the rest of my house. Also, a side note is make sure you are properly locating this device as it cannot be placed directly by a wall or furniture because that will block the amount of air intake and output the machine can do. ... show more

We live full time in our 38 foot travel trailer, and this has been a wonderful purchase for our health. Husband has horrible allergies that cause sinus infections on a regular basis. Before this purchase, he used his ceramic neti pot nightly - sometimes twice a day. Since this purchase two months ago, he's used his neti pot only around four times! We tote it into our bedroom at night and back into the living area in the morning. A little hassle, but who can afford TWO? 😆 Edit: I caved and bought another! We got the 45i model for the living area and put this one in the bedroom. Our new model is always on "auto" mode and it ramps up as needed (often!). We use this one on Turbo as we sleep and it creates great white noise to sleep by - as well as the health benefits. Yay! ... show more
