This is the first self leveling laser I’ve purchased, and I am glad I did the green laser really pops so you could see it very clearly on any surface. Very happy with this purchase helped me tremendously building shelves. The magnet on the back is very helpful and strong.

Works great..... not visible outside in full sun...but indoors and in the evening outdoors works. My first laser level and I don't know how I have got by so long with out one. You need a tri-pod for this.

I ordered this for use with my art. (Don't laugh. I'm serious!) When I'm painting abstracts on large canvases, it's especially important to know where the exact vertical and horizontal lines should be. Otherwise, I'll keep going back, painting the same areas over & over again. (Yes, I've tried using a ruler, a T-square, and so on. Nothing works nearly as well as this little device.) But wait.. there's more! ;) lol Hanging my artwork on the wall... let's just say I'm finicky about all the canvases being aligned "just so." In every case, this device was the answer. The lines are bright and easy to see, and - with someone else to hold it while I make the marks I need - this solves all my art-related alignment problems. Yaaayyy! I realize this may seem like a little silly answer to my multiple dilemmas, especially for the price. However, for someone like me - who'll spend hours (or more) making sure things are "just so" - it's worth every cent. (Without this, I can spend days tweaking the alignment of my paintings, and steadily retouching the artwork, trying to get the lines exactly where they should be.) For me, this device is what I've been looking for, for years. Thank heavens I stumbled onto it and realized right away how I could use it with my art. ... show more

This level seems really well-built and should be durable for the long haul. It comes with a rechargeable battery that clearly has the capacity to run the level for days! The included magnetic mount is a great addition and the case fits all the components with ease. I would love it if it came with a tripod but most levels do not include one so this isn't anything out of the norm. The level puts very clear green lines on your walls and automatically levels so you can confirm everything is plumb. If the unit is not level the lines blink rapidly to inform you that you're out of alignment making it a sinch to set up. If you need to you can also put the unit in manual mode and use it without the auto level which would come in handy if you wanted to put the line at a higher elevation than the level itself. Overall this is a fantastic product that does exactly what it advertised! I would highly recommend it! ... show more

    • Simple tool but works well
This is a nice tool. It doesn't have any 'special' features in comparison to other brands, but it works well. There are two laser brightness levels to choose from, and it comes with a case and tripod mount. It would be nice to have some sort of lock functionality where you can bypass the auto-leveling feature to use it as a squaring tool more easily. It would also be nice to have a horizontal laser positioned at the very bottom of the device to make it easier to use for floor leveling. Given its somewhat limited features, I would say it could probably be priced a bit lower. I believe I've seen other laser-level devices with a couple more features at a similar price point. ... show more

    • It's very bright and easy to see..

Compared to my old Red self leveling laser this one is actually usable in fairly bright light. It has great range as well. While testing it was very easy to see the beams along the wall and on the other wall 20+ feet away. The rechargeable battery is very handy as well. I don't need to use one of these tools often so I had to make sure to remove the battery from my old one, and then when I would want to use it I would need to locate a fresh battery for it. With this level you just need to make sure to keep the battery charged, and follow the instructions to periodically discharge and recharge the battery. The one "con" that I found, and it is minor, is that the manual contradicts itself. In one spot it says to remove the battery when not using the device for long periods of time. In another spot it says that the battery is internal and is NOT removable. So read into that what you will. I didn't try to take it apart to see if the battery could be unplugged, I might do that at some time in the future, but I'm not going to worry too much about it. Note: The laser is quite powerful, so use caution around pets and children as well as other adults. Even with lower power lasers you should avoid looking directly at them as it can cause serious eye damage. So be sure to use appropriate caution when using this device. If I needed another one in the future I would order again. ... show more
