There's a few gifts in life that people complain when they receive it because "there's no thought put into it". Gift card are one of them. Let's be honest here though, if you know somebody soooo well and know they can easily buy $100 worth of grocery weekly to biweekly, this gift is absolutely fantastic. You won't feel like committing a faux pas giving them money, but at the same time you can give them something you know they can use. Unless they shop at Whole Foods like my friend, then you should've bought them a Whole Food gift card instead of Albertsons because now they think you're cheap. ... show more

I purchased two of these cards for my 80 year old mom for a Christmas gift. She went to the store, got a basket of groceries expecting to use the card. When she got to the checkout, she waited on hour for the staff to help her figure out how to use the card. She left ending up having to pay for her groceries. I am upset that my mom was not able to use the cards, which are marketed as useable at any Albertson’s store. I am in touch with Albertson’s and both Blackhawk Network on this issue.     • Albertson's card worked for me
I ordered the Albertson's $100 gift card from Amazon on Nov 24, and picked it up in my PO box a week later on Dec 1. I then went to an Albertson's store, and the card was active and I used it for purchases. Here's the reason I ordered an Albertson's card for my own use through Amazon: My employer has an employee-award system that gives us "points" to redeem for products offered in another company's website. The website offers many gift cards including Amazon, but it doesn't offer grocery store cards. I wanted to use my points for groceries and bus passes, so I had to redeem my points for an Amazon gift card and then purchase the Albertson's card from Amazon. ... show more

I received Amazon gift cards as part of a contest at work. Wanted to use them to buy groceries so I bought this $100 Albertsons card using my Amazon gift card. I was a little worried because of some of the reviews here that said they had problems. Before ordering, I called Albertson's headquarters in Boise and my local Albertson's but neither could guarantee that the card would work. I called Amazon and discussed it with an agent and she said that since the seller is owned by Amazon, there shouldn't be any problems. She couldn't actually come right out and tell me that Amazon would refund me if it didn't work, but I got the impression from her words that they would. So, I ordered one $100 card as an experiment. I took it to my local Albertson's and the card worked just fine, with a full $100 balance.
