    • Green Irish Tweed for a fraction of the Price!
I'm a huge fan of "green/fresh" colognes, and of course one of my signature scents is Green Irish Tweed by Creed. Al Haramain's Amber Oud Carbon Edition probably comes in at the closest clone you can get at a fraction of the price. So I kinda wanted this for a "more than special occasion" wear cycle without burning through my GIT too fast. Top notes are Bergamot, Lavender and Rosemary; middle notes are Sea Notes, Geranium and Sage; base notes are Moss, Vetiver, Amber and Cedar. For me I get the sharpness of the Rosemary and really strong Lavender before any of the citrus notes of Bergamot, with Geranium and Vetiver at the dry down doing all the heavy lifting throughout the day. The Amber is there giving it a richness behind the scenes and the Cedar is pronounced but not overpowering. Also, by day I mean ALL DAY. It lasts forever. Easily a 12 plus hour men's cologne. A little goes a long way gentlemen. One might say that Green Irish Tweed has a "smoother and more complex" scent profile....but I think if somebody goes fairly modest on the application...Carbon Edition can be an incredible substitute. That being said, this is an "Arabian blend" so potency, projection, and sillage are really pronounced. Apply wisely boys! I got the 6.7oz (200ml) and it will more than likely last me years to come, even with routine wear. It also came with a travel size so that was a nice bonus. Love this cologne. My wife had given me one over a year ago and it's now gone, so we bought another one. It comes in a really nice box that includes an empty travel size atomizer, which I filled and keep in my laptop backpack for the office. This makes a nice gift.

Cologne is my favorite Green Irish Tweed clone lasts like nuclear long time however my package arrived damaged with cologne leaking all over the box and 1/2 a bottle gone I will attempt contacting customer support.     • The ultimate daily workhorse, even if the opening pulls no punches.
TL;DR: If you need a fragrance that you can grab without thinking, lasts all day, and makes you smell like you just walked out of an expensive barbershop, this is it. The actual scent is a bit synthetic and harsh for the first ten minutes, but its performance and versatility completely carry the team. The Scent: Fragrance snobs will try to write poetry about the "lush violet leaf, iris, and aquatic verbena." Let’s bring it back to reality: this is basically Creed Green Irish Tweed’s louder, rougher cousin. It smells like a very expensive bar of Irish Spring soap. I have to give the scent itself a 6 out of 10 because that opening is harsh. It hits you with a sharp, synthetic blast of green notes that requires you to hold your breath for the first five minutes. However, once it finally calms down and blends into your skin, it turns into a very solid, clean, powdery barbershop vibe. It’s not a mind-blowing masterpiece, and it definitely leans a little old-school, but it smells undeniably clean. Performance: An extremely solid 8 out of 10. The reality with most "fresh and green" colognes is that they completely vanish by lunchtime. This one actually clocks in and does the work. You are easily getting 7 to 8 hours of a crisp, noticeable scent bubble. Do not over-spray this thinking it’s a weak freshie, or that sharp opening is going to give everyone in your morning meeting a headache. Three sprays are plenty. Versatility: A 9 out of 10 because this is the ultimate "dumb reach." Office? Yes. Hitting the gym? Yes. Running errands on a Sunday in a hoodie and clean kicks? Absolutely. It’s completely inoffensive (once it dries down) and just makes you smell like a guy who takes his grooming routine seriously. It works in almost any weather, any time of day. Presentation: Al Haramain doesn't play around with the Amber Oud line. The bottle is a massive, heavy block of glass and metal that could genuinely double as a doorstop or a self-defense weapon. It looks and feels way more premium on the shelf than the price tag suggests, and the atomizer pushes out a great spray. Overall Score: 7/10 (Solid Utility Buy) Why does a fragrance with a 6/10 scent get a 7/10 overall? Because the presentation, versatility, and performance do the heavy lifting. You don't buy this bottle because the scent profile is going to change your life; you buy it for the utility. It is a reliable, heavy-hitting fresh scent that struggles a bit with a chemical opening, but does exactly what it needs to do for the rest of the day. If you just want to smell fresh, clean, and groomed without having to overthink your outfit, it’s a good bottle to keep in the rotation. ... show more
