  • Fun Guitar
Color: Carbon Drift
I usually don’t buy offbrand guitars because I’ve not had much success with the two that I did buy. But I wanted a 12 string electric and did not want to pay the price for a Danelectro or Schecter. This is similar in looks to a Schecter 12 string electric. I have a fender acoustic electric 12 string, but I wanted something that sounded different. I was not disappointed in this guitar. The action was set pretty good and no high frets. Overall, the frets are pretty good, but I may file the ends on a few of them. But nothing that cut your hands. The strings are OK, but I will be replacing them with Ernie ball. But straight out of the box I tuned it up and it played great. I’m really pleased with the pick ups. The neck is just right and fast. The tuners seem acceptable. I’ve had it for a little over a day and played it for about four hours. I have had to retune it a few times. But 12 strings are notorious for constant tuning, plus these are new strings. I’m sure it’ll be fine once the new strings settle in. It is a beautiful guitar. I have not found any imperfections. Sounds good to me and so far I’m very satisfied. The quality is very good and the price was excellent. The accessories that come with it are your normal inexpensive items. The tuner though was actually pretty good. They give you an extra set of strings, but it’s only six strings not 12. But I wouldn’t use them anyway. But the gig bag that comes with it is pretty nice. It has a neck brace and Velcro straps to hold the neck down. It’s better than the fender and Epiphone bags that I’ve bought for other guitars. I would just say if you’re looking for a 12 string electric at a reasonable price, I think this is a pretty good guitar. ... show more

  • Excellence that surprised me
Color: Carbon Drift
I build kits and do guitar repair. The finish on this guitar is miles beyond its price point. Frets and fretboard are nicely finished. I did perform a slight truss rod adjustment, more for my style of playing. The pickups are nice. I did a recording with them thru a Fractal Axe III, turned out very nice. I'm a tinkerer though, so I'll be swapping the electronics out in the near future. Overall an absolute steal at this price. Run, don't walk to get one if you're in the market. ... show more

  • Solid 12-String With Great Chord Texture
Color: Carbon Drift
This is a really nice guitar. I love the paint job too, there’s something about that glossy black finish, especially with that very mild glitter in the paint that just looks so aesthetic. It gives it a modern edge without looking too flashy. The fretboard came clean, no weird marks or shipping damage on the neck/headstock, everything was solid right out of the box. After playing around with it for a while, I started to notice how good neck feels good in my hands. It’s not too thick, not too thin, just comfortable and easy to move around on, it’s the same neck thickness as a basic 6 string strat. You get 22 frets, a cheap nut, nothing fancy there but it does the job. The stock strings feel a little stiff at first, but once you start playing, they actually have a nice texture and tone compared to most stock strings you see on new guitars. They don’t feel dead or lifeless, which is great because I really do not want to restring this thing since I know that will be a headache. Also, I want to clarify something in case it’s not obvious already. This is definitely NOT a fast shredding guitar. A 12-string just isn’t built for that. You really have to make sure your finger is fretting both strings in each pair cleanly, otherwise it’ll sound like you’re missing notes. That’s just how 12-strings work. It forces you to be more deliberate. Because of that, it really shines with big open chords, melodic progressions, hybrid picking, and fingerstyle. Even simple single-note riffs sound great, as long as you’re not trying to fly across the fretboard. What you get is texture. Fullness. That layered shimmer that a regular six-string just doesn’t give you. It changes how you approach chord voicings. I could easily see myself using this for chord-heavy sections, more atmospheric parts, or anything that needs a wider, richer sound. The body feels solid and has a good weight to it. It reminds me of a Strat/Tele style shape but with slightly flatter contours, kind of that in-between look. It feels well built, not hollow or toy-like. The pickups are passive, so no batteries are necessary. If someone really wanted to, you could technically string only the main strings and treat it like a six-string, but that kind of defeats the purpose. The whole point is that 12-string shimmer and depth. That’s what makes this thing special. But if you try it and don’t like the feel, you could still use it like a regular six-string. For around 300 bucks, I think the build quality of the guitar is very impressive, especially the pickups, volume knobs, and the fretwork. It even comes with a gig bag, strap, and all the basic accessories you’d expect. For the price, it’s a really solid 12-string, would definitely recommend it. ... show more
