Great And Affordable Way To Get A Student Started

I got this for my grandson for Christmas. He is showing a talent for being a multi-instrumentalist and I want to assist that along and expand his horizons. This was a great way to introduce him to the violin without breaking the bank. If he continues to excel with the instrument we would upgrade the quality of the instrument, but for the time being, this one is excellent, won't break the bank, sounds pretty darn good and the fit and finish are very nice for this price. A couple of on-line videos helped him learn to tune the violin and he's a few lessons in with an instructor and he still shows excitement about having the lessons, learning new techniques and showing them off to anyone who will sit still for a few minutes.

Insulting quality! Bow hairs are not equally tense and came with hairs broken crooked cracked and otherwise UNUSABLE. The finish on the violin also STAINED MY HAND?! W2 of the strings broke, and the instrumental repair shop informed me the strings were of shoddy quality.

Haven’t had a chance to practice, but it seems that it’s quality made. It’s not the most prestigious violin but it’s well-made and it sounds great. The bow looks quality. The case is quality all around. It’s a great deal.

It’s a good start for a beginner just not the best

For a beginner set, I’d say it’s pretty good! I didn’t know how to use anything including the tuner but my instructor helped. The only problem was the bow: it came with 3 bow hairs loose and it’s too sensitive especially when passing the rosin. Wouldn’t buy again BUT it’s a good start !!
