This is the second range hood we have ordered from Akdy. The first was for a house we built in 2017. We loved it so much that we just finished building our new house we used the same one just a different color. Install is simple and instructions are very clear. I love the look of this along with the nice bright lights, clock and how well it actually works at sucking all the steam out when cooking. When on its highest setting it is a little loud but very rarely do I have so much going on the stovetop that I need to use it. As advertised. Seems like good quality, nice stainless steel finish. Seem solidly built, but I would go over all the screws prior to installation, as I did fine some screws did need to be tightened (but be careful not to over tighten). Very powerful fan when on high setting. There is 4 fan speed settings, under normal use # 2 speed seems to be efficient, Maybe #3 speed if really needed. At the highest setting of #4 is really strong and loud, there is even a noticeable turbulence / echoing effect when on the highest setting. The highest setting is probably too powerful for my size kitchen and/or the over all duct size which was reduced from the hood range's 6 inch diameter to 4 inch. So issue may not be the fault of the design of the range hood. The ceiling in the kitchen is 8 feet tall and the range hood was installed approximately 27 inches from the top of the stove. The telescopic chimney was extended up approximately 6 inches from the ceiling which the duct was running along the wall and ceiling above the cabinets. The range hood and stove are 30 inches wide but I had installed the wall cabinets on each side with a 3 inch gap from the glass hood. This was done for aesthetics and function, which prevented the wall cabinet door on the right side from hitting the glass hood when fully opened. The two 35 watt Halogen Lights are not very bright and are yellow tone. The light color did not match the under cabinet LED lights, which are pure white in color and are very bright, I may decide to change the bulbs to a brighter, more pure white color led bulb. There was an issue with the manuals wrong instruction on setting the time on clock. A review from "Adam W" (May 31, 2016) mentioned to press the "power" button for 2 seconds instead of "time" button. This worked for me, and I was able to set clock to the correct time, thanks to Adam W review. ... show more

Love this hood. It steals the show as soon as you walk into my kitchen. We installed it ourselves in the place of a previous over-the-range microwave. The instructions are terribly written and got quite frustrating as we tried to install it (hence the 4 stars) (I suggest perhaps hiring a professional who does hood installations if you'd like to avoid the hassle) but we wanted to accomplish this ourselves and save some money. We eventually abandoned the included hardware and bought some mounting hardware from a hardware store (just describe what you're installing and a knowledgeable rep will be able to point out alternatives). Following your instinct will probably be better than trying to follow the instruction manual included, it was that frustrating. The operation of the fan on low is at a decent volume, it gets quite loud on the highest setting but then it is a fan, it is somewhat supposed to be noisy. We use it mostly for the light and look rather than the function of efficiently cleaning out the air over the stove but you can see the steam and fumes being sucked in well when it is turned on. We've had it for 2 mths now and love it. We've used the remote just once when we tested it, not sure about the practicality of that piece. Overall, very satisfied with the purchase and highly recommend (despite the flimsy instruction manual). ... show more

The Range Hood arrived promptly, and very well packaged - not a dent, ding or crack in the body or the glass.....I was so delighted. The installation guide was very simple and but for the weight (40+ lbs), I could have installed by myself :-) Took about 30 minutes to assembly and attach to the wall......LOOKS AMAZING!! Lights are in the front, not in the rear as some people complained about and very bright. Glass is very thick and crystal clear, not that cheap green hue found in other inexpensive glass products. Stainless feels very strong, not flimsy or flexible. Even came with a little tiny remote....why you would ever need one not sure but if you're a gadget person you will think it's cool. Looked at well over a 100 different hoods before choosing this one mainly because of the price. I was willing to take the risk and I was not disappointed this hood exceeded my expectations in quality, style and price. Complete kitchen remodel in progress so I haven't taken pics yet but will post once kitchen is complete. ... show more
