    • As good as the GoPro Hero 8 and a whole lot less expensive
This is an amazingly versatile and quality alternative to the GoPro. With the accessory package there isn’t any way this camera can’t be used. It’s extremely well-made, and I think it even beats the GoPro in quality. GoPro is made in China. In my opinion, that’s a negative. At first I mistakenly brought the Akaso Brave 7. So Amazon made it easy for me to return that action camera, which I returned unopened, and I received the BRAVE 8 in just two days. I also lucked out because Amazon had the BRAVE 8 at a greatly reduced price so it was a double win for me. I have yet to use all the features of the BRAVE 8 - mainly underwater recording, but that’s not the main reason why I got it anyway. As stated in the manual, the one click remote works well at even over 30 feet. The optics are stellar. It’s true that the resolution is 4K but I say to myself “so what”? That’s plenty good for most users needs. It may not be as great a professional standard as 5K but that’s relatively new. I was surprised at some of the negative reviews on the web about this camera, because the criticisms did not fit my experience at all. It made me wonder if some of these reviewer‘s got some incentives for their not very glowing reviews. The camera is made in the United Kingdom, not China, and has the majority of the features that the GoPro has at about half the price for the same level model. I also feel that it is more intuitive to use than the GoPro, the stabilization mechanism is excellent, the 48 megapixel image quality is beyond impressive. The front and back viewfinders, like to go pro, makes it all that much more easier to use in different ways. In my opinion, this isn’t one of those “you get what you pay for“ situations. It’s more like GoPro charges way too much because of its “reputation“. ... show more

    • Affordable, user-friendly action camera offering 4K video
The AKASO Brave 8 is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a user-friendly and affordable action camera. Here’s a brief review of its key highlights: 1. Ease of Use: The AKASO Brave 8 is designed with simplicity in mind, making it suitable for both beginners and more experienced users. Its intuitive touchscreen interface allows for easy navigation through settings and features. Whether you're adjusting video resolutions, switching shooting modes, or connecting to Wi-Fi, the controls are straightforward and responsive. The voice control feature is also handy for hands-free operation, especially in action-packed situations. 2. Affordability: One of the standout features of the AKASO Brave 8 is its price point. Compared to other high-end action cameras, it offers a wide range of premium features at a fraction of the cost. You get 4K video recording, image stabilization, and even underwater capabilities, without breaking the bank. It’s a budget-friendly option that still delivers solid performance, making it an attractive choice for those who want quality without overspending. In conclusion, the AKASO Brave 8 strikes a great balance between ease of use and affordability, making it ideal for adventurers, vloggers, and casual users alike. ... show more

    • Could be OK, but poor quality hardware

So gave this a shot, specs look OK, price was fair, and a lot of nice features... Well some not so nice, start off with the included remote. Looks nice, go to charge it and find out it uses a micro USB connector. Guess what, the camera only comes with a Type C USB! Reached out to support and got a quick answer and a link to buy one! That was strike 1. In charging the batteries in the small external holder it seems that it will not charge from both my phone chargers with high power USB ports. Charges fine from the computer and regular Type C. Strike 2. And for the final three strikes and your out, you can't access the card or camera USB C port if the case is on. And you need the case to be on if you want to do time-lapse or anything that requires the mounting to be used as well as external power. The problem is the opening for the access door to the USB C / Memory card was made too small and offset so no way to open it with the case on. Too bad, seemed like it had potential, but poor case design, not including proper cables for the remote, and odd charging issues make this an immediate return. I might try the Brave 9 down the road, but this is a no go. Pics show the opening is too small EDIT : support was very helpful and offered a metal case to solve the manufacturing issue. Bumped a star because of this. ... show more

    • Short life before dying.
I like the camera. The features and shot quality are enough for my desires. Here’s my problem. I bought it to take on a cruise just out of return date. When testing it out I noticed it seemed to get very hot. Shortly thereafter, now on vacation ) I started noting issues with batteries not charging. Tried standard wall chargers and then high speed wall chargers and could get nothing more than 10 minutes on-time even when not filming. Shortly after I get no charge at all. This pretty much shot down any hopes of recording events of my vacation. Was it the batteries? The charger? Or the camera? Don’t know but now I have to deal with customer service & warranty while still not having the camera I purchased for our vacation and upcoming family event this weekend. Nice camera but I don’t think I would buy another one. ... show more

    • Great little camera!
If you are looking for a good budget action camera then the Akaso Brave 8 is for you. The camera captures video at 60fps and the colors are more vibrant than that of the 7. Battery life is good and the camera features are accessible easily thru your phone, via the Akaso app, or the camera. Image stability seems to be okay, but could be better. I use a Hohem Gimble to help compensate with the movement. Sound is best if you use an external microphone. In all its a great little camera for the price. Camera is sturdy and well designed for its price. ... show more

    • Very nice little camera

Worked great on trip to Aruba. Took very clear underwater photos while snorkeling. Battery lasted for a few weeks. It was super easy to use and the app makes transferring the photos to phone super easy. It was cheaper than the go pro but works just a good.

    • Good produce at a great price
Set name: 64GB MicroSD Card Bundle
I purchased the camera to use during hunting and outdoor activities. I haven’t used the camera yet, but the price was right and it was quick shipping. I purchased the additional accessory pack, which was a bargain. The camera had good reviews with long battery life. It appears to be user friendly and easy to use. We will see how it measures up to my old GoPro. ... show more
