Description

AIRHEAD SWITCHBACK is a new and exciting 4 rider towable. Two riders sit in front with a comfortable inflatable backrest and side panels to keep them in place. The other 2 riders kneel behind them, riding chariot style. It's a totally different sensation riding in front or back, so it's like 2 tubes in 1, consequently the name SWITCHBACK. This deluxe towable slides effortlessly across the wake. There are plenty of boarding straps for re-boarding from the water. SWITCHBACK features 2 heavy gauge PVC bladders and a rugged double stitched nylon cover to ensure long service. Inflation and deflation is easy with the two patented Speed Safety Valves. Size: 88 in. x 70 in. (deflated).

I was just looking at these again for my brother who's buying a pontoon. Here's what I was just telling him: The switchback is awesome for 3 or 4 kids. They switch between chariot in the back and sit down in the front. My 13 year old son will bring a friend and my 15 year old daughter will, too. So, the girls will go in the front for a while while the boys ride chariot style in the back and then it's a switch and vice versa. The bad news is this tube isn't good for just 2 people. Like other reviewers noted and it's true- it sinks and plows under with just 2 people on the front sitting. In my mind the tube deserves 5 stars because it really is designed for more than 2 people. The quality is awesome, by the way. The stitching is HEAVY duty. We have 3 different style tubes. This is the only one that doesn't lose air over time. We've had this tube for 2 year and had it out on the water for countless hours, so I feel this review is fair ... show more

I feel that this was falsely advertised that it pictures 4 people(2 adults and two children) riding on it. My 20yr old grandson and my 14yr grandson were the only ones riding on it. There would not have been room for my other younger grandchildren at all. We just opened it up and used it once this past weekend. I would return in a heartbeat and buy the Super Mable if I could. Missed the return by 1 week only because we were afraid Amazon would be sold out by the time the weather got warm. So, so disappointed. Don’t waste your money. ... show more

We've been vacationing with another family for years (totaling six kids under 6) and there were ALWAYS fights over taking turns on the tube and managing the kids left behind in the boat. In an effort to find ten damn minutes of peace and quiet...ooops, i mean accommodate their enthusiasm...we bought this tube. I've never seen anything like it. It was as if the waters opened up and we were gifted by Neptune himself. All 6 kids took their seat on the chariot and we finally had a moment when the only thing we heard was the lullaby of the boat motor pulling our children 60' away.     • Comfortable and fun.
This tube is great for pulling behind any boat or jet ski. It has plenty of room to fit up to 4 adults easily. Like most tubes, just make sure you get a long enough tow rope to be far enough out of the white wash water from the boat motor, otherwise the tuber will get splashed in the face a lot. The tube is also large enough to just lay on in the water. The front rope tie hook is also a nice feature. The tube takes a good bit of air to fill up so you almost need a decent air compressor to fill it. It would be very time consuming to fill with a hand or foot pump. ... show more

My parents bought this tube for their house, and it is the only tube that all 3 of my kiddos felt comfortable riding without having a fear of losing their lives when doing circles behind the boat or jet ski. So, had to splurge and get one for our house. The kids love it! Beware though....it is very heavy and sometimes the tube within the shell shifts, which makes it difficult to inflate. Due to the weight, we just keep it in our boat and use a small electric pump to inflate it when the kids want to tube. Also.....be prepared to go through a lot of gas, as the tubing will go on for hours! ... show more

    • Fun but cover is frustrating
So, we love that this holds four people. We had two adults in the back and two teens in the front and the quality is great. The only negative thing I can say is that there is an outer cover and the internal raft moves around independently. Every time we deflate it and store it, you have to fuss with it to get the access flaps and the inflation point to line back up. Maybe they are all like that, this was our first one. ... show more

This is the best tube we have ever owned. The design makes it easy for everyone to hold on with multiple handle options for all passengers. It has yet to tip over so if you are looking for the thrill of falling off, this isn't the tube for you. It takes waves so well we can go feet off the water without it tipping and still continue with the ride. The kids love it and it makes me feel more comfortable when they are out on the water. The back part is a little small so your feet at times may hang in the water. My 11 year old prefers the back saying it's even more fun than the front though. The design of the tube allows it to easily be secured on our particular boat - I feel like it takes up less room. Overall a 5 star rating and worth every penny! ... show more

    • Not too big for a 4 person tube.
Second time we have purchased this tube. We use it often and store outside in the summer but it lasts us the whole season. The last one got us through 2 seasons but was on it's last leg which is to be expected with outdoor storage in the hot sun. I would love it if they sold a protector to go over it. ... show more
