  • Outstanding quality, value and performance
Performs well and is very quiet. This Airgoo AG-426 is solid and does not leak. The finish is nice and the pressure regulator adjusts easily. I airbrush large scale model planes and ships, so I will often be airbrushing and cleaning for hours at a time. I will also be switching between airbrushes depending on color or application. My airbrushes range from a .8mm trigger sprayer to a .2mm. Mostly I use my .3mm airbrushes. I have an inline MAC valve, but changes in air pressure are still needed. The Airgoo AG-426 will maintain pressure with LESS than a 2 PSI variation of my setting. That is phenomenal for a hobby airbrush. The instructions are clear and they tell you how to adjust the air pressure. I'm including a picture from the instructions on how to do that. I've owned many compressors like this and all of them will wander a bit no matter how well I stick the suction cup feet. This one vibrates and wanders less than any I've owned. I just screw bits of wood around the feet to prevent wandering. Overall the performance is excellent and it is very quiet. For a hobbyist, to get superior performance would cost four or five times the price. Outstanding quality, value and performance. ... show more

  • Great Compressor. Perfect for airbrushing.
I needed another airbrush compressor and didn’t want to spend a lot of money for a back up. This one works great and I find myself using it more than my Iwata. If you’re new to airbrushing (or even a veteran) this checks all of the boxes I was looking for. -external tank (this in of the highest importance to me. A secondary tank = a constant airflow) -very quiet. -powerful. I can push 55psi for pearl paint with no issue -moisture trap (large and doesn’t leak air) -cooling fan. (Awesome feature that many don’t have at this size or price point. -portable. If you’re a hobby level artist, you can’t go wrong with this one and at this price point. I’ve had name brand that are 3x the price and this is up there with them. If you plan to do large projects consistently, or plan to use for a business, you should probably look to upsize your compressor as this size isn’t designed for that. The only question that isn’t answered yet is, how long will it last? If this review hasn’t been updated and ends after sentence, that means it’s still going strong. Good luck and enjoy your art! ... show more

  • Light and Moderate Noise
Air compressor works good and there was no leaks. It’s definitely portable. Very easy to move around. But it was louder than expected. Measuring with my phone app, the motor runs at 57 db when the tank is empty, but it gradually increases as the tank fills up. At max, it was 70 db (also 70 db when the compressor maintains the PSI during usage). Other than that, i noticed that one of the fan cover screws were shorter than the other 3 and come loose during shipping. Thankfully, it was still usable and i could still secure it in. Edit: I previously measured the noise level within my bedroom (10’ x 10’). When I close my door and measure from outside my door, it was around 47db. Now if i go into an adjacent and close the door of that room, i can barely hear it. When I move the compressor to my living room (~4x larger) and measure within the same room, it was measuring around 60db. All in all, I’m not worried about the noise anymore ... show more

  • The little (quiet) engine that could
My initial thoughts after just a few days of use are: "This is a quiet beast." If this quality for the price keeps up long term, this rating will change from 4 to 5 stars. I cannot even tell it is running from an adjacent room if there is any other ambient noise. I can also listen to a media device in the same room as the compressor without the noise generated by the compressor making the media pointless to consume. I feel that the advertised 47db is accurate on my model at least. Which I find an easily tolerable noise level. While not essential, such a feature makes the decision to buy any airbrush compressor, much easier. From a mechanical performance quality perspective, it has been relatively easy to adjust and clean/maintain. For example: opening the port under the tank after each use, to vent moisture. The second fan does a great job of never allowing this to overheat, and is a nice upgrade over the competition. It does what it says on the tin. It compresses air into a reservoir for later dispersal via an airbrush or similar psi rated device. It has been doing so without any leaks or annoyances. For a personal use tool, it is serving admirably thus far and I have high hopes and little reason not to trust that it continues to do so. To do all of that at a reasonable price, is something I can respect. ... show more

  • Broken regulator?
This is my initial impressions. From the exterior it looks okay- no obvious finish problems. The product label was only half stuck on. I haven’t been able to give it a full run, the fitting doesn’t match my airbrush. Also, the regulator continues to pass air even with the pressure backed all the way out - I’ve never seen a regulator perform that way. It’s very quiet when free running. I was only able to get about 10 psi with my finger blocking my hose - I don’t think that was an issue with the compressor itself, however it got significantly louder, and it sounded a little labored. I’ll revisit once I sort the hose connection to give a better impression The packing seemed well done, which is a good thing, as Amazon shipped it in a box with about six inches around all sides and no dunning at all. Kinda reminds me of the time we accidentally ordered a tin of Gingersnaps and some hand weights. ... show more
