    • Using for decorating chocolate moulds using cocoa butter
Overall the unit does what it advertised to do. I did struggle with using colored cocoa butter in the air sprayer, initially. After taking it apart and figuring out how it works, I was able to find a set-up that actually sprayed the cocoa butter as needed. There are 2 nozzles included, however only one actually sprays, the second just forced the air back into the cup and would not spray any coloring. If using for cocoa butter, use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently warm the nozzle and tip to keep the liquid from solidifying and stopping all flow. It is pretty easy to clean between colors. I rinse with hot water and plain cocoa butter between colors. Once I figured out the set-up, it worked for what I needed and did a really nice job. One downfall is the instruction card that came with the unit does not help at all with troubleshooting issues and searching online does not bring up helpful tutorials. It works much better when not using the hose attachment, just attach the gun to the top of the unit. ... show more

I wanted to try this brush for detailing miniatures and other things I 3D print. I didn't want to spend a ton or deal with a large plug-in compressor so this little portable airbrush seemed like a good way to try. I have no experience painting miniatures or using an airbrush, so I went into this as a total beginner. I can't speak to how capable it is for people who actually know what they are doing, but for a newbie jumping in and trying stuff, I didn't have any trouble getting started with the basics and it seems like a great kit to get started with. The kit is very nicely boxed, and all the parts are well organized. When it came to picking paint, I followed instructions I found online for diluting acrylic craft paint with distilled water to make it compatible with airbrushes. This worked well in my case, but true airbrush paints would certainly have been superior. As a paint subject, I found an old gray resin 3D print of a wood dragon I made a while back, which had some printing defects so I never did anything with it. I put on a base of dark green, doing light coats to start with, then getting heavier. When I was done, the coverage was even and looked really good in my opinion. Then I mixed some brown paint to try painting and blending in some areas of the dragon. As far as painting the figure goes, the results were hit and miss, I like how some areas came out, but in some places I definitely oversprayed and painted areas I didn't want to paint. I think this is an issue of painting skill, knowledge, and experience (as in, I lack all these things.) I think the airbrush did its job well. In the end, if you look at the pictures and see past my terrible technique, considering the fact that I used "improvised" airbrush paint and had no idea how to airbrush well, it still did a really good job for me. The coverage seemed even and I didn't get spatters. The compressor has 3 speeds and there are adjustment knobs to help control the flow, but I can't speak as to how well these fine controls work compared to other airbrushes. I thought I would prefer using the included hose, but after trying it, it was less hassle for me to attach the nozzle straight to the compressor. There were also some kinks in the hose that I think might have reduced the pressure. For cleanup, I followed the instructions to clean out the tank and nozzle, and took out the needle. I had to get pliers to start turning the nut securing the needle as it was too tight to turn by hand. I did not see any buildup or dried paint so I think it just came from the factory torqued on pretty tight. You might check and loosen it before your first use. When I was done painting, I ran some Isopropyl alcohol through it, and then distilled water to finish flushing it. Everything looked good as new after that. I have to assume that there are some limitations to this brush since it is cordless and not a large plug-in compressor, so maybe it's not for everyone. But I like that it's compact, not too heavy, seems to have plenty of air pressure and battery life for normal model painting, and has plenty of accessories to help you maintain it. This is a great airbrush kit for make up or painting. You could even use it for nail painting. There are just so many uses for it. Being metal, it's easy to clean and recharges easily. Overall, I'm very happy with it.

I've used it a few times it does what I need it to but seems to only run about 5 to 10 maybe till it shuts down probley to protect the motor .I didn't time how long before I need recharge I would say it doesn't last long . I did get some paint projects done and will continue to use it because of the results are wonderful and fun .great beginner tool ... show more
