UPDATE: It sounds like my units may not be working as they should, so the customer service team reached out and was very helpful. I appreciate their communication and thoroughness in the matter. It is nice when a company stands behind their product. Original: I bought two of these about a month ago to give them a shot before I ordered a few more for our home. I wanted to use them long enough to give them a chance. However, I can't say for certain they are doing anything. I also can't say if they AREN'T doing anything. I looked at the filter recently, and don't see anything as far as dust, hair, or other things you'd expect a filter to catch. The filter on my vacuum catches air particles each time I use it, but this filter appears clean. Maybe it takes much longer than a month for build-up to be noticed? Maybe you aren't supposed to notice a build-up of particles? It could be user error, but it seems pretty straight forward, so I doubt it. The small size makes it easy to place where filtration is most needed, as long as there's an electric outlet within reach, and it does not take up floor space. I have several around the house for litter box, bathroom & kitchen odors and litter box & desert dust. It took about 4 months before the first set needed a filter change in our dusty house. I have this air purifier in my bedroom. There is no noise to it that I sleep without interruption. The only time I hear the fan is if I have it on the highest setting which I sometimes put it on when I am up for the day and then place it back on low to sleep. For around 60 dollars I don't think this makes a good air filter, it feels and looks cheap and it doesn't really do a great job filtering the air in a room, but the timer and night light are great for kids or dogs who are afraid of the dark.
