We bought a used 2000 Nissan Xterra, and there was a crack in the cold air intake boot that was pointed out by the smog technician. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to replace. It looked like just a few clamps needed to be loosened, and then re-tightened with a new one, and it actually was.

One of the hose clamps disassembled itself just trying to loosen it. I just used the factory clamps. Not sure what the longevity of this component will be, the rubber feels very stiff and slick compared to the factory part, only time will tell. It fit well enough, and the Xterra definitely runs better without all the unmetered air slipping past the previous ripped hose. ... show more
