If you’re a beginner or a casual player, this kit is a pretty solid choice. I played drums in high school and wanted to get something compact and minimal to get back into it. Since there’s no provided amp I’d highly recommend it to those who live in an environment where it’s usually quiet as it has its own pair of headphones to use. I have my own amp, so I can project the volume of my kit with the same quality sound, where it's good for learning, practicing, or messing around without spending a ton. Pads and cymbals feel really good, it provides the same sounds as if it was a real drum kit. The quality of the poles were sturdy and the mesh on the drums felt responsive to my drumsticks. The sound module has a ton of options to play around with. I can adjust the tempo in its built in metronome, have preset songs, and you can even record what you play. This setup brought me back to my highschool days, highly recommended. My nephew recently joined his middle school band and plans to play percussion. I plan on buying another one for him to get some good practice in to improve. ... show more

Do I recommend this AiJoy Electronic Drum Set for about 300 bucks? Yes I do, especially for beginners or casual players who want a solid introduction to drumming without spending a fortune. Full disclosure: I know nothing about playing the drums or any instrument. I got this kit to learn, and it comes with nearly everything a beginner could need, including a stool, drumsticks, and wired headphones. Speaking of, the headphones impressed me more than expected. They look and feel cheap, but the sound quality is surprisingly good. Setup took me about 45 minutes by myself. The frame is sturdy tube steel, and everything fits together well. Just make sure you tighten the screws enough to prevent parts from twisting. All the cables and components are clearly labeled, and the instructions are easy to follow. The full setup takes up a bit under five square feet, so it should fit comfortably in most homes. Performance-wise, this kit exceeded my expectations in many ways but fell short in others. The drums sound great through the included headphones, and there are plenty of modes and sound settings to play with. The control module also includes a USB-B port (printer cable) for MIDI output (but does not include the cable), which is nice if you plan to use it with recording software or even rhythm games such as Clone Hero. It's also fully compatible with Melodics if you want to actually learn drums. Again, this set doesn't include that cable so if you want one, you need to get one or borrow it from your printer. Where it falls short is how everything attaches together and the height, especially of the snare drum. The clamps seem like they work just fine until you start playing. I found I had to readjust and re-tighten the clamp screws while I was playing them. Make sure you keep the included screw key attached to your set because you will need this as you're using the set. In terms of height, it's mostly the snare drum (center drum) that feels a bit too low, even when at the highest setting. I'm 5'5 and I felt like my leg keeps getting in in the way. In terms of noise, the drum pads themselves make some sound when struck, even with the silicone tip covers on the sticks, so people nearby will hear you tapping away even if they can’t hear the music. The kit doesn’t have built-in speakers, so you’ll need headphones or an external amp if you want others to hear the drum music. One thing I wish it had is Bluetooth headphone support because the wired headphone cable feels too short and gets in the way. While this should support an aux-to-Bluetooth adapter, it’s 2025 so Bluetooth should really be built in. All things considered, this is a solid electronic drum kit that’s great for beginners and even experienced drummers looking for an affordable practice setup. ... show more

The drum set was a major hit at Christmas. It is a totally complete set that includes everything you need to get started. It can be connected to a speaker/amp which is not included but the headphones are included. From the sticks to the pedals this set impressed us. The set is well made and ready to take on the banging of the sticks or the tapping of the pedals. The controller has many adjustments to the sound and even included some songs to drum out to. It was fairly easy to put together and the size isn't overwhelming and can be folded to store it. The stool was also included and was able to hold up kids and adults. The drum set sounds amazing though the headphones and sounded just like a real drum set to me. I would highly recommend and give this a big thumbs up! Love it! ... show more

Not good save your money and buy a different better set . The one we received had to have an amplifier to use the headset and you can’t even play the same drum piece at the same time. When it says beginner it means beginners that isn’t any good at all.

It is a good kit, however the noise presets are not the greatest. Another problem I ran into was the snare keeps moving whenever you hit it too hard with it being tightened all the way. Otherwise, it is a great starter kit that doesn’t produce a lot to noise.
