Note: Reptile heating pads can be placed on the bottom or side of the glass tank, depending on your placement, and should only be placed on the outside of the glass tank. Read the instruction manual before use. Maintain ventilation and avoid localized overheating. For use on glass containers only. For use on glass surfaces only. Not recommended for use with plastic, acrylic, or water tanks. Do not completely cover the pad. Note: If you choose to place the heating pad on the bottom of the glass tank, be sure to slightly elevate the tank using the included rubber feet or other methods to prevent heat buildup.

    • Not Best Option for my Hermit Crab Tank

I chose this for my hermit crab tank. I rarely feel heat come from it, and it will not heat up a 10 gall aquarium tank. I have it on the backside vs the bottom since the tank has several inches of sand so my hermit crabs can molt. I find that my crabs will hang out by the tank wall where the pad is in order to get what bit of heat they can get. I got this for my tank since it was a recommendation on a good way to heat the tank without using a light bulb. You can't control the heat, nor can you adjust the pad once you stick it to the tank. It sticks fairly well except for where the cord is, it wants to hang off a bit in that area. It's a nice pad, but not a good option for a hermit crab tank. ... show more

This little warming pad is a great way to prepare my seedlings for germination. I adhered this pad to a ceramic tile (smooth side) and adhered some small rubber cabinet door bumpers on to raise off the floor. I placed my starter trays on top and voila.

I heats, but not enough through the glass. It also never came with a thermometer like it said it would. Won’t work for the baby hognose it was purchased for so I’m returning it. Might work for something that’s needs around 89-90f temps but not any higher.
