Surprisingly easy to assemble, though part do require 2 people. The fit and finish of this desk are a high quality, I could not have made a better choice for what I need. I would certainly buy this desk again if I had the need Two things I would do different but are not negatives -- it comes with a stand to hold a tower computer. That has holes only in one side of the shelf. It would better serve, for those of us who hang our computers on the back of our monitors, if the shelf had those 2 extra holes drilled so it could be used as a stand alone holder for say a UPS batter back up device, The large for on the short l is one tall space.
