🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The product in question appears to be a rugged smartphone that's touted for its exceptionally loud speaker and durability. Reviewers have mixed opinions, with high praise for the phone's volume and simple SIM and SD access, but criticism for its poor camera quality and audio tone. The 'night vision' feature seems to function well, and the phone is noted for its large screen and no-software issues. However, it's also described as bulky and heavy, with some design drawbacks like a tricky screenshot function and a charger port that feels insecure.

Pros

  • 🔊 Exceptionally loud speaker volume
  • 🌙 'Night vision' works well in smaller spaces
  • 🔧 Easy access to SIM and SD card slots
  • 📱 Large screen for visibility
  • 🔋 No software issues reported over several months of use
  • 🎧 Includes a headphone jack

Cons

  • 🎵 Poor audio tonal quality at maximum volume
  • 📷 Subpar camera performance
  • 🐢 Slowness and performance issues
  • 🔄 Difficulty syncing with peripherals like a watch
  • 🔌 Charging port does not feel secure
  • 📸 Taking screenshots is challenging

Should I Buy It?

If you're seeking a rugged smartphone with a primary focus on loudness and basics like calling and might find utility in 'night vision', this might work for you. However, if you're expecting high-quality audio, an excellent camera, or a sleek and lightweight design, this phone may not meet your expectations.

  • Exceptionally loud speaker
Style: H5 Pro
WEe got this phone for one primary reason - it promises an exceptionally loud speaker. And the speaker is indeed loud. The quality is not great in terms of audio spectrum but this is acceptable because from a physics point of view, it is impossible to have full spectrum audio, low battery consumption, and a small form factor. So some of the frequency spectrum is overemphasized - meaning the audio tonal quality is poor. BUT for loud volume that is understandable, this is by far the loudest phone I have ever heard, including the latest Samsungs and Apple phones. So at maximum volume, the Samsungs and Apples sounds more natural, but they are a lot softer. The 'night vision' works very well too in a small room. Easy access for the Simm and SD card slot without requiring a tool. T-Mobile card popped in and worked immediately as does the wifi-calling. The screen is large. Only drawback is that this is a big and heavy phone, but this is expected to produce the durability and volume. Tip: For audio tonal quality at max speaker volume, place it speaker down, screen face up on a flat surface such as a table. The reinforced lower mid helps it to sound a bit more natural. 5 stars. ... show more

  • Just don't.
Style: H5 Pro
Edited to add that customer service reached out to me and was also not even remotely helpful or actually interested in resolving my problems with this phone. Still 1 star, still not impressd, still don't recommend purchasing this phone. I basically live in and on the water, so when I came across AGM a couple years back I very happily bought one. I had an AGM Glory for quite a while and I absolutely loved it, and even though I eventually broke it (I know it's a rugged phone, I'm just very hard on my things and it survived a lot before I finally killed it), I 100% planned on getting another AGM phone. This one was on what looked like a killer deal so I took the bait... and I fully regret the decision. This phone sucks. Literally every single thing I loved about my old phone has been dumbed down and screwed up with this one. The camera takes horrible pics, the extra loud speaker sounds absolutely horrible, the screen resolution is awful, it's slow, for some reason it won't sync with my watch, phone calls sound like crap... basically, I just hate it. I feel like an idiot for trying to save money and buying this instead of another Glory. Don't buy it, it's not a good value if it's trash. ... show more

  • Seems reliable
Style: H5 Pro
So far I've had no problems using this phone. I've had it for 3 months and it has had no software issues which is the first one of these tough phones I bought that had no software issues. The speaker is everything that holds up to be, very loud sound. You do need a screen cover on all these phones with the so-called gorilla Glass, I've had five of these tough phones and every one of them claimed this gorilla Glass was strong, they all cracked regardless. I don't like the fact that there's no notification sound separate from the volume of the phones ringtone. If I want to hear my phone ring loud and do not want to hear my notification sound I can't separate the two, you're stuck with both of them being loud. I like the fact that it has a jack for headphones. I think the charging port could have been a little more secure because I plug it in and it feels like it's just barely in there but the phone still charges so I'm not going to make that a huge complaint but they do need to secure the plug better. When you're trying to do a screenshot it's almost impossible because you have to push the volume button in the power button at the same time and the right beside each other so you might or might not get your screenshot, so if you're someone who likes to screenshot videos you might miss the shot you're looking for. The camera completely blows, it's probably about the equivalent of the cameras that came out back in the mid-2000s it's just a low quality low-grade camera and for something at this level it should have been a much more high-tech camera and they should have put more emphasis on quality. Some of the other tough phones I had offered a toolkit with a compass and a laser measuring, and a bunch of other things that this phone here failed to offer which would have been very easy for them to install because the point of this is a tough phone that you can probably take out in the wilderness and drop it and get it wet and it would still survive but yet you don't have a survival kit or anything else in there to get you through a possibly bad time. The only other thing that probably makes buying these tough phones troublesome is that I don't know where customer support is or how to get a hold of anybody when there's a technical issue so hopefully your phone provider can help you with technical issues otherwise you're kind of stuck with a problem if something breaks or you have issues. With that I give the phone four stars for reliability and I would give it three stars for functionality. ... show more
