The media could not be loaded. We purchased this Murphy bed as a guest bed in our family room, and we are so pleased with it! The piece is well-made and looks like a nice piece of furniture. It is easy to change from bed to chest and chest to bed, and as a bed it feels sturdy. The mattress is comfortable and the drawer storage is perfect for storing guest linens and pillows. We will receive our first guests next week, and I can’t wait to hear how they like having a real bed after staying on our sofa the last time! This bed was delivered 3 weeks earlier than promised. Instructions for assembly were clear, pieces fit as they were supposed to, and they included a flier for exactly who and how to contact someone in case there were any problems with the product (we had none). It IS heavy, so you will definitely need help with tools or a friend if you need to move the piece after delivery. The bottom pull-out portion comes pre-assembled and that is too much for a person to move around by themselves if you need it up stairs for example. The media could not be loaded. I love this item! It is exactly what we needed for our guest room and the mattress is very comfortable! In comparison to other products I found this one had the best mattress option and functionality. The drawer works great and came completely built in one box which saved us a lot of time. However, the parts and tools DO NOT come labeled which makes building this furniture a little tedious. It would be great if this product got an upgrade to label the parts and tools sent. Other than that, customer service was fantastic when I needed a few damaged pieces replaced. Quick response time and got my new pieces fast with updated tracking information ... show more

We needed a bed that could fold out of the way for our studio efficiency style beach apartment. This definitely met our needs. It's a high quality piece of furniture. Comes in a few boxes and is very heavy. I had to carry it up stairs so needed to open the boxes and make it as light weight as possible. Several nice touches. The right side of the bed as outlets and usbs. How cool is that! The bed completely folds up into a super compact and very nice looking piece of furniture. The wood used is strong. After over a year of owning it we have just had a couple of scratches on the enamel. The included mattress that folds up is also a nice medium firm and comfortable sleeping mattress. We did add a very thin foam topper and it still allows us to close and fold the unit up. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a bed for a compact space but can also see how some might think it's a little clostrophobic sleeping on it since the top shelf does overhand a little bit but also folds back too. ... show more

I haven’t yet assembled, but I pulled the pieces out of the box today and am very disappointed by the finish. The finish is horrible, with chipped paint and dark staining, all on portions of the cabinet which will be visible when assembled...nearly every piece! Extremely disappointing for an item that is not inexpensive!! I don’t want to return, because that would be a giant pain, but I don’t even know if it is possible to assemble with the warped side pieces. Update: I did get it assembled and the mattress is comfortable, but it certainly doesn’t look like a brand new piece of furniture, especially one that cost over $1000. In addition to issues mentioned in original review, the pre-drilled holes for the cabinet handles don’t line up right and they’re pretty obviously crooked. ... show more

Looks really good, real comfortable mattress, works out much much better than a verticle danger bed i mean murphy bed. Not hard to assemble, does take a long time, the engineering is a notch or 2 above other knock down furniture which i really won't buy, expect this piece made sense.

We have a two bedroom double wide mobile home in a gated 55+ community we recently moved to and my lovely wife is fixated on the idea we might have overnight guests even though we haven't had more than one occasion of them in thirty years of marriage. Sigh, OK. This unit is reasonably priced compared to many others of this class of furniture and it is of reasonable manufacture. It was packed well in two boxes. The shipping weight is just over 300lbs. Assembly was simple although the instructions might seen somewhat hazy to those uninitiated to constructing things. The average person will need the assistance of another person to help lift and align things. The completed product fits well into the second bedroom and keeps the floor space open until needed. My sweet wife is able to fold the bed out and fold it up easily by herself. The mattress is good enough for short-term guests as it is, but my Beloved felt it necessary to buy a thick mattress pad to increase comfort. Mind you, you can't fold up and stow the mattress with a mattress pad, sheets, and blankets on it, but she's happy. If you have overnight guests, I can't see you going wrong with buying this bed. ... show more

Just as described and as pictured. Arrived in several boxes which were heavy. Takes 2 people to put together an hour+. Read directions closely. All parts were provided and numbered which made assembly easier. Laid out all parts on floor and placed hardware nearby. I found one piece of wooden slightly broken but still was useable and not that noticeable as it went under the inside. Another very slight crack near one of the front handles on the wooden “drawers”. Did not box the unit all up and return or wanted to wait for replacement parts as guests were coming and i wanted the bed set up immediately. The double/full mattress folded out nicely and did not curl back up. Had sheets ready to put on so made it up after full assembly. My guests said the mattress was comfortable. Have not folded it back up yet to just show as a dresser. Do like the idea of 2 large drawers underneath for storage but cannot access while bed is laid out. Have to pick up end of mattress if needed to reach in. Will hold quite a few clothes in drawers for storage or 4 blankets. Hopefully will last for a few years with guests coming/going. ... show more
