It’s nice that it comes with the fertilizer, although I’m sure you can get something similar. If you’re just starting out, the AeroGarden comes with fertilizer anyway. Some have labels on them somehow to see pods in them some or empty baskets… Maybe I got a return that wasn’t checked? Anyhow, I have found that if you’re going to keep planting anyway, buy the AeroGarden baskets and the seed pods and labels separately and then you have plenty and shouldn’t have any future issues. ... show more

I like this product, but the box is flimsy and always empties out by the time it’s delivered. Not all pods actually work with seeds, but I still think the aero garden is one of the best out there.

Let me start by stating I'm a fanboy of this company have three machines 2 harvest and one harvest xl all work great and these seed pods and kits are awesome except for the last two grow anything kits came with the stickers glued on by someone that should be doing something else they are crooked and peeling off I prefer to put them on myself other than that awesome. ... show more

    • All You Need to Start Your Own Seeds

I used these Aerogarden Grow Anything pods to start my vegetable garden indoors. Some of the plugs weren't straight, making contact with the water an issue if I wasn't careful. I also had to make sure that the seeds went all the way down into the opening or else they wouldn't get the moisture they needed to germinate. I love that you put the paper lids on yourself and mark them -- I used a Sharpie -- to avoid any confusion about what you've planted. My tomatoes went wild in these pods in Aerogarden conditions, and of course I needed to transplant them not once but twice. The first time, I cut the plastic holder off -- use REALLY strong cutters -- and planted each in a peat pot full of seedling mix. Once they were established in the pots, with fertilizer keeping them going, and once the temperature was right, I hardened them off outside. After about five days of getting them used to the outdoors, I planted them in my garden. Not surprisingly, they've gotten a great head start on the season. I planted peppers and herbs in my second Aerogarden using these pods, and they did just as well. These require more care than do the ready-to-go pods complete with seeds, but they also give you more versatility when it comes to what you grow.
