Should I Buy It?

If you're looking for a lightweight, sturdy, and high-quality mount, the Aero Precision mount is a great choice. While leveling the sight could require a bit of effort, beyond an issue likely confined to certain scopes, the overall user experience is highly positive. Bear in mind though, if you have specific preferences regarding the ring distance or mount height, then you might want to consider those aspects before making a purchase.

  • Great quality, I just wish I could use it.
The piece feels very well machined, it's super light, and comes with all the tooling necessary to install it, including a miniature torx-bit torque wrench. The finish is really good, no flaws there. My big problem isn't one with the product itself, it's one with my rifle. I have one of the old Ruger American models that has a kinda-sorta picatinny rail. What I mean by that is that the rail on my rifle has two 3-slot sections interrupted by a solid space where the Ruger logo is engraved, then two 2-slot sections at the front and rear of the rail. These have slightly longer raised portions where the screws mounting the rail to the receiver are located. I ended up having to use traditional scope rings instead of this monolithic unit. Down the road if I ever replace my rifle I will utilize this mount on my optic. ... show more

  • Light weight option
If you’re looking to save weight this is a great mounting solution. Very good quality and ounces lighter than my Vortex and Burris 30mm 1913 rail mounts, I will be purchasing again.

  • Holding well so far, got at great price.
Holding zero just fine so far. Bit finicky to get crosshairs perfect, but torqued properly to Aero's specs, bit of loctite right from get go, have had no issues. Did not need lapping, looks good, works good, nothing has loosened/shifted. At about half the normal price, consider it an excellent value, will likely buy more. Not sure I'd use on high calibers, could see top of rings shifting a bit from recoil or a hard bump, but no such issues have been experienced. ... show more

  • Great value, holds zero without issue
I have these Aero mounts on several FAs. I have never had any issues with holding zero, or issues of any king for that matter. They are light and just work. If I have one complaint (which is true for most vertically split rings, it is level shifting when tightening down the rings. Once you know what that is, I usually account for .1 to .15 variance (on a digital level) and start the scope 'out of level' by that much. During the process of progressively tightening down the rings it will shift to 0/0, a perfect level. ... show more

  • Excellent Product
This mount was for an AR with Bushnell AR Optics 30mm scope. This one took only minutes to mount and get the scope centered. Many negative reviews complain that it took a great deal of time and effort to center the scope. In my experience any mount that tightens from on one side of the rings can move the scope a bit at the final tightening. Setting the scope slightly canted then tightening is the method of get reticle straight. It can be fast or it can take a while and be frustrating. This mount was a 'fast' one. I own several of the Aero Precision mounts and will buy more as needed. Have had NO problems with these mounts in years of use. ... show more

  • FDE Cerakote is icing on the cake
Love Aero mounts for their durability, light weight, and their ability to solidly retain an optic. I have a number of these Aero mounts but enjoyed finding a cerakote FDE version. These mounts are a little tricky to install as they tend to want to rotate the scope counter clockwise up to 5 degrees when tightening. I’ve found it best to install a half a bubble off of level such that the scope rotates in to level with the rifle when torqued to 15 lbs. this can take a couple of tries to get right but it’s far easier than trying to prevent the scope from rotating. (If anyone has figured out a better approach, I’d love to know) The only thing I would do to improve this mount would be to redesign the rings such that the rotation isn’t an issue. Still, since I know what I’m getting myself in to, and these are super durable and perform very well, I will continue to be Aero mounts as long as they are available. ... show more
