Description

This is the official FAA Advanced Avionics Handbook FAA-H-8083-6. Released in 2009, for use in 2023. Printed in Color. Full size: 8.5 x 11 inches. The Advanced Avionics Handbook is designed to provide general aviation users with comprehensive information on advanced avionics equipment available in technically advanced aircraft. This handbook introduces the pilot to flight operations in aircraft with the latest integrated “glass cockpit” advanced avionics systems. • Recommended!
Unlike some of the competitors, these are actually in color. The print quality is good. Having said that, I’m aware that they’re the print out of the official FAA pdf’s and so, yes, could have gotten them for free. However, I’m just more used to (and somewhat better at) looking up stuff in actual books. So if you have some money to spare, I highly recommend these! ... show more

  • There’s nothing modern or “advanced” about it.
This book boringly covers a couple 20 year old pieces of avionics: the Garmin 430 and (minimally) the G1000. But it doesn’t even explain things well. You’ll be way better off saving your money. I was expecting NXi, TXi, basic FMS function and more modern jet avionics.

  • Exactly what I needed
Needed this for my Instrument Rating…it is what it is. Perfect.
