I ordered the 4-pack of these rail pads for my husband's tree-stand. He had covered the bare metal rails with pool noodles in the past, and the squirrels apparently love foam for their nests because they chewed all the noodles through to the metal. These rail covers came in an air-tight compressed package - very convenient for shipping and transporting into the woods, but not so convenient for posting a quality review. The packaging is so compressed that I find it hard to believe there is any padding under each cover - my fear is that the "covers" are just a heavy fabric without any added padding. Hunting season is about to begin here in New York, so he'll be taking these to the woods in the coming weeks and we'll know after he opens the pack what the true quality is and if he can remove the creases from the folds where these were compressed into the plastic. I'm sorry I can't give more of an update at this point, but we refuse to open these in fear that they'll "poof" into much larger pieces that will be hard to transport (picture taking a pillow from it's tight plastic wrap). So far, I'm hopeful the quality of the contents is as fantastic as the quality of the packaging, and I promise to update in the coming weeks to advise how well they work on the tree-stand rails for fit and comfort. If you have existing stands with covered foam pads on the rails, you know they don't last forever. I found these are a nice replacement for those foam pads. The material is camo neoprene with built in velcro. It's easy to attach has a nice soft touch. It is not as thick and squishy as foam but it provides enough cushion and deadens the sound if you bump the metal rail. You can cut them to size or use multiples if you need different lengths. I put this up on one of my tree stands that has a huge railing on it the day it arrived- prepping for the upcoming deer season this fall. My stand rail is sturdy, but makes a lot of noise and squeaks when my gear, rifle, or bag scrapes against it, especially when I’m shifting positions or getting in and out of the stand. I put these on, and although I wish they were 6” longer, they covered enough surface area so I don’t have to worry about the scraping noises as much. Additionally, the camouflage print helps hide the stand a bit more. My one complaint is that the padding isn’t as thick as I had anticipated, but this is an easy adjustment. If you’re looking for an improvement to your tree stand setup, I’d suggest investing in these. ... show more

I really liked the pattern of camo that it came with. It matched well for what I was using. The part I liked the best was that you could in fact cut it with scissors to the exact size I needed. It was thinner than the padding I had on the tree stand but it still keeps the metal on metal sound from happening. I recommend it! ... show more

These tree stand rail pads aren't the thickest, so they aren't really cushy "pads" but more like covers for the bare metal on the tree stand. They do help eliminate noise so you don't have a metal clang if something bangs against the rail so that's a plus. Most of the rail pads on all of my husbands tree stands were in various stages of disrepair due to animals and weather so these were a great replacement, 4 piece set at a nice price. ... show more
