Received the item and went to assemble it… however noticed that the holes didn’t not align for placement of the bottom shelf. This was a defective item. Highly disappointed.

The desk already had a few scratches upon arrival so I was a little disappointed in those. It was a little hard to setup, and if you made a mistake somewhere you would have to start over again and if you're not used to assembling furniture other than IKEA ones, you might want to pay attention to the instruction manual closely while assembling this. I like how this portable desk has wheels and makes it easy to move around. I live in a small apartment so I sometimes move it around in front of my couch in the den or in the living room while I watch TV or wherever and it's great if I work in various places in the apartment. There are two lower platforms below it which I like to put a fan on. The portable desk is a little bit wobbly, but I would expect that in most portable desks. You can adjust the height of the desk as well, but you have to remove the screw on the sides and then put it back in after adjusting the height so it's not as convenient as those electronic standup / sit down desks that go up and down on its own, but given that it's small and portable, I am pleased with this product for its purpose.

Assembly required: - Zero tools. All that were needed were included - 20 minutes - Two head scratches - Zero expletives On the whole, this is a pretty decent mobile desk. Materials were a bit on the mid/lower-end, I'd say. Assembly involved screws into pre-drilled chunks of plastic, rather than those little metal cam bolts. The veneering was okay, but obvious. The bottom shelf is just tall enough to support your average hardback book, and may be ill-suited for storage of cookbooks or other larger books. The primary work surface is large enough to support both a laptop and mousepad. It also supports a fair bit of weight, though you may experience some flex in the unit while under even relatively slight load. Not a ton, but enough to send a pencil rolling. The wheels will be fine for hard surfaces, but may have trouble on rugs and carpet.

This desk is nice. It is able to be securely adjusted to the heights you want, and it is wide enough to hold a laptop and an open textbook. However, it does bend a bit if you put too much pressure on the desk (as light of pressure as laying your head down).

For the price, I was hoping for perfect. This is not quite perfect, but will meet my needs. The instructions were lacking, but I was able to figure it out (mostly because I have some recent experience putting this type of thing together - more likely because I have an engineer for a husband). The thing does not roll well - not at all on carpet, even low-pile carpet. I will get new casters as soon as I can. The desktop size is adequate for my 15 inch laptop and mouse - leaving some room for a notepad to jot things down, and maybe a coffee warmer. There is room on the lower shelves for odds and ends, which I will fill with clutter in no time. I am able to hang a hook on the side for my gaming-style headphones. I do like that the height is adjustable, so that I can use it in my kitchen, den, or in a La-Z-Boy chair. It does feel a bit industrial, and is hard to roll - which is why I deducted one star - but it is definitely useable, and adaptable for a home business or just someone who likes to do home management in multiple places instead of at a static desktop. Recommend with 4 stars.

Overall, this was a nice portable desk that could be used in many applications due to its adjustable height and portability. Due to its light weight, it was fairly stable but not nearly as much as a fixed wooden desk would be. I like the extra shelves at the bottom for storing a few of the items around me such as wireless keyboards and remote controls. I subtracted one star for the rather poor assembly instructions. I'm very familiar with this type of assembly and had no trouble doing it. But if this was someone's first project, I could easily see the issues that they would have. The wood pieces and hardware were not labeled with stickers and simple questions such as which screws/bolts should I use with which wood pieces could lead to unnecessary frustrations and returns. You can use my attached pictures for reference to what the finished desk should look like.
