Holy moly these adjustable dumbbells are SOLID! Dare I say, indestructible? I previously used a set of Nautilus 552 Series 1 adjustable dumbbells and nothing but problems with them. Broken discs, stuck dials, flimsy feel, etc, etc. In comparison, the AOC dumbbells are magnificent - despite taking a few seconds longer to adjust (but don't get me wrong, adjustment is easy once you've used them a few times). These are seriously the kind of dumbbells that will withstand years of use/abuse due to their straightforward design. Every single piece on the kit is made of metal. No plastic or rubber flimsy parts to ruin your workout. If you're considering adjustable dumbbells, or coming from an inferior product and want durability and ease of use, these are likely the adjustables you're looking for!

Excellent design! I bought these to replace my Eisenlink square shape adjustable dumbbells. These have a similar design, but the octagon shape is so much easier to use than the square shape that other brands have for the weight plates. This pair of dumbbells is built super solid and is one of the few adjustable dumbbells on the market than can actually survive an accidental drop (most competing products can break very easily). The weights are adjusted with pairs of 5 lbs weight plates and one pair of 2.5 weight plates that can be attached to the very end. The knurling on the handlebar is well made and easy to grip. The handlebar is thicker than static dumbbells, but still very reasonable to use. Overall these weight plates are highly functional, and I look forward to using them long term!

Just received these adjustable dumbbells today (one shown in picture). They are pretty well built, and the screw knob design is pretty clever. However, they also have some issues. Here are some pros and cons I found so far: Pros: - The material is metal, so they can probably take some abuse and last pretty long. - The screw connector are well designed and holds the weight plates on really sturdy so they probably won't fall out easily. There's also no slack between the weight plates once screwed in, which is not the case for many adjustable dumbbells with the twist handle design. - I didn't notice any weird smell from the packaging, but even if there is you can just sanitize it/wipe it down anyway since they're made of metal. - The weight goes up to 80lbs in 5lbs increment from 10lbs start weight, and at this price point it's a decent deal. Cons: - These dumbbells aren't as ergonomic as the ones at commercial gyms. The knerling seems to be okay, but the weight plates are bulky (probably a design choice to shorten the width, but could've chose a more dense metal for the weight plates) and the handles are a little bit too long (probably to support the screw pin design, this might be solved by a better design). - The weight changing process can be a bit time consuming, especially from very heavy weight to a lower weight, even though you don't have to completely unscrew. So it can be pretty annoying to do drop sets on these. - The metal spoke that comes out of the weight plates seems to be glued in, so there might be a risk of them falling out eventually, but this haven't happened yet. - This might be a bit of a nitpick but the metal screw do make some metal rubbing noise when screwing/unscrewing. But this can probably be fixed with some wd40. Overall, at this price, these dumbbells are really good for a home gym set up if you can put up with these cons. You're literally saving both money and space. Only time can tell how these are going to hold up, but so far they seems pretty sturdy so I'm confident that they should last quite a while. I'll keep updating this if anything happens.

Bring the gym feel to your home Balanced in the hand Aggressive knurl Solid end screws, no rattling, sturdy Very basic but well made. No mechanical locks which can be risky. Just a solid screw to hold weights and alignment screws to hold the weights locked in. I will be buying more weights and expanding.

They're big , they're heavy and will last a long time. Worth the price I paid during Prime days , but as it goes past $549, the value decreases. These are to be cheap alternatives to the bigger name brands and it loses its appeal as it get closer to their price point. Changing the plates are easy and straight forward.

Love these AOC dumbbells. I ordered 90 pounders to replace a set of spin locks I had with standard plates (1” holes). Much more convenient. Easy to change weights. Rock solid. All metal. Should last for years. No complicated (delicate) moving parts.

I debated a bit on 4 vs 5 stars for this review. On one hand this is one of the best heavy budget adjustable dumbbell sets you will find BUT there are compromises you are making for the price. Its not the fault of the product itself but merely as a cost savings to provide a cheaper adjustable dumbbell versus options like are 2-3x the price. The dumbbells seem well made, the knurling is light to moderate, its not as much as my Rogue Ohio Bar (no coating) but it has some feel to it. The diameter of the handles is beefy, if you like a bigger diameter grip this is for you but I would imagine this could lose some points for women or those with smaller hands. The size of the hex is on the larger size for diameter but Im sure they are doing this to keep the overall width down with a full stack of weights. A benefit is there is very minimal to go mechanically wrong like some of the more expensive options so I fully expect these to last a lifetime. For me I had individual dumbbells up to 30lbs and this is filling the gap beyond that without breaking the bank. Im still working on a good way to store the uninstalled plates - there are some 3D printed options but more for the Square type vs Hex. I did find a stand was beneficial for using these too.
