The way this set of weights fits together is engineered brilliantly. It takes very little hand strength, is very quick to do and works flawlessly from 1 pound to 5 pounds per hand. There is a big choir of colors, and they come in a box that is also a storage box for them. Each piece has its own place. They are nicely balanced. The only thing I wish they would change is the size of the hand grip. These are 1 to 5 pound weights that will be used by somebody needing to build the most basic starting strength possibly in recovery. My hands and weak and small and do not fit around the hand grip, they are for large hands. I’m going to try using them and see if I can safely hang onto them because everything else about them is good

Amazon invited me to review this as part of the Vine program. Recently my wife has been using adjustable weights as part of her physical therapy after a shoulder injury. These are a nice set. There are grips which weigh 2 lbs and then caps and fillers that weigh .5 lb/227g each. That gives symmetrical weights of 2,3,4,5 lbs for each hand or up to one dumbbell with 6 or 7 lbs. But unsymmetrically that also adds 1/2 lb increments in between, and without the grips, smaller weights of 1.5, 1.0, and .5 lbs are also possible (and needed by my wife!) The pieces connect using an insert and 90 degree twist (one quarter turn). They are slightly tight to disconnect, but I was able to do it without trouble. It is easier to connect and disconnect them if I begin with the grip and work my way out to connect and then work my way back in. The rounded square shape means they don't roll, and is a variant on the hexagonal or octagonal shape often found in dumbbells for the same reason. All weights are encased in hard plastic, except for the grips which are a softer texture. We got the purple color.
