These adjustable weights are so innovative!!! My husband has a slightly torn rotator cuff, but wants to work out, however, the least amount of weight he can lift without further injury is 5 pounds and these fit the bill. They are a weird girl color and he kind of balked about it, but it's not like anyone is going to be seeing them..... lol. Turns out, he / we really love these dumb bells. The handle itself is one pound and then each plate you stack on each end adds another 1/2 pound to (up to 5 pounds on each dumb bell). The plates are so easy to put on and remove with just a slight twist. Once on, they stay on. We love that they are so adaptable to your needs. I'm excited about these adjustable dumbbells, because I wanted a way to have different weights without having so many items to store. And they come in a really nice box that I think I will probably hold on to to store them in. There is some texture on the handle which helps you to grip the weights. I got the blue color which is really pretty! Snapping the weights on and off the ends take some practice. The good news is there is definitely a click when it is locked in place so you'll know if you have successfully gotten it on or not. Be sure to hold on to the previous weights when adding another one so you don't twist them off in the process of adding more. It is a little tricky to get the weights on and off, so if you're changing within one workout, you might want to add some time for that. I was really looking forward to adding these 4-in1 adjustable dumbbells to my new fitness routine. I love their cute and cheery color; it actually makes me want to work out! And I love the idea of being able to adjust their weight for different exercises or strength levels so easily--except it really isn't all that easy. I find myself working at it for several seconds at a time, trying to line up the indentations and then twisting the weights into place. When it works, it's super easy, but when it doesn't, it's very frustrating. Maybe the set I received is faulty somehow, or maybe I'm just too dumb to figure it out, but I have trouble with it. Aside from that, I love the convenience of these weights. The handlebars are textured for a better grip, which I appreciate because I'm clumsy. But at SEVENTY DOLLARS--the price when I ordered this set--I think they are stupidly overpriced, especially considering the prices of similar sets and how difficult it can be to add extra weight discs. They're well made, I guess, but I'm disappointed. No recommendation from me. ... show more

I got these for my elderly mother who is coming back from a shoulder injury and wants to be able to expand her at-home workout capacity within the confines of limited storage space. She said that the included instructions were very helpful to allow her to take them apart and add or remove weight. She also says they are comfortable to hold. She is still working up to being able to use them in a plank position but can tell that the hexagonal design will make her feel more secure when doing so because they won't roll as easily. I wanted a small set of weights that weren't too cumbersome and these are nice. I wondered if the pieces would be awkward in the way they attach to the end, but it actually works really well. They feel comfortable in my hand and should get a lot of use. Recommend.

As a space saver, I thought I would try these adjustable weights. I was hoping to get rid of my 2, 3, 4, and 5lb weights and just use these.. What I wasn’t thinking about was when I have to go from one particular weight to the next quickly…..I.e. when I’m doing a video workout. At any rate, these adjustable weights are nice. I like the more feminine color. I find them easy to add the extra weight on, just push and twist. It doesn’t take any effort to add or take off weight.
