These are solidly built - there were some areas that I really had to pound with a sledgehammer to get them deep into the ground and not a single one broke, and only had one spline bend and that was when I tried to hammer it into the cement around a fence post. I thought the black paint looked better than plain galvanized, the the double horizontal rails did a better job at keeping critters out and probably helped with the stability. My only complaint was I wished they were a little cheaper. Initially ordered a pack of 25, but ran out, so I'm ordering another pack! ... show more

I went to hammer in The ground and a few of the spot welds didn’t hold. I pulled the. Out of the ground and more welds came unattached. Looks good but does not hold up.

Not only does it keep them from digging under the fence, if you loop it through the bottom it will keep them from pushing the chain link out and escaping. We also used it on our porch to keep the skunks from residing there. Product works great. I did have 2 pieces that the spikes came off when hit with a hammer. I placed an order for the 10-Pack 20x10" in the color black. The item came damaged. Lots of paint missing on 9 of the 10 pieces with the steel exposed. I have to assume that the exposed steel will start to rust when exposed to the elements, and will only last one season at most. Within the packaging, the seller has a User Manual and a section under 'After-Sales service' requesting that you contact them directly to replace any damaged pieces. However, the Amazon chat feature does not allow you to message the seller due to the item being shipped via Amazon's warehouse. As these fences still serve a great purpose, if purchasing I recommend that you paint any damaged areas yourself before installing outdoors. ... show more
