    • Really Nice Cart But Getting it was a Pain!
I ordered this cart and setup a delivery date but on the day of the delivery I got a text saying it was delayed. Long story short my cart ending up being delivered 3 weeks late with limited communication. When I finally got the cart one of the doors had damage on both outside corners, similar to the ones in the pics from other reviewers. I called up Acme to see about getting a replacement door and they said they do NOT do replacement parts on fully assembled furniture, REALLY!! My only choice was to return the cart and re-order, no way I was doing that so I called up Amazon support and they took care of me. As for the cart itself, it is really heavy and sturdy and very nice looking. I'm not sure why the top part has removable boards but it does make it easier to clean. The wheels roll easy but they do not swivel so if you need to turn the cart you have to kinda of push one side the direction you want it to go. Not a big deal as we have it in our kitchen and do not plan on moving it around. I would be careful with the bottom of the 3 drawers as they feel a little bit light, so would not recommend anything heavy in the drawers and be careful with sharp objects. We added drawer liners to them to help protect the bottoms. The side shelves feel very sturdy and would have no problem with heavy items. Overall we really like the cart and find it very useful and helped us reorganize our kitchen. ... show more

Took a wild to come in, but it all went really easily and smoothly… This is a nice sturdy piece of furniture. i'm a professional carpenter, so I am often disappointed at the quality of online furniture… But this piece is beautiful, really nice wood, well put together. A bit pricey, but worth it.

    • A Very Interesting Piece
I bought this as a replacement for my worn out microwave/storage cart. Delivery was uneventful and as advertised. Buying furniture online can be a challenge-this was easy. I do not imagine you will often encounter a piece of furniture like this. Both front and back are identical The drawers and doors pull out for the same internal space, therefore be aware if you want to park this against the wall as the knobs and/or the drawers can nick the wall. The top boards are removable and reversible and can be used as serving trays. It came assembled except for the wheels. This cart is large, heavy and is a beast. One person cannot put these wheels and turn this unit around they way it needs to be turned so I got help. I recommend the same to anyone else who is considering this purchase. The wheels are designed in a vintage style. Also large and heavy - I believe they are cast iron and in keeping with the design of the cart. It is beautiful and does serve the intended purpose and am very pleased overall. The reason for 4 stars? -The design of the wheels. This unit is a large rectangle and weighty-the wheels do not swivel and if you intend on moving it about frequently you need to have a care about how to get to your destination without a lot of undue stress on the wheels. The color, size and functionality it is perfect for what I wanted. Unfortunately it came with a broken cabinet door. I don’t think wood glue would fix it…it’s that broken. Working with Amazon customer service now

    • Use as an island in my kitchen
I wanted a movable island in my kitchen and chose this though it would normally be a buffet. What I liked were the looks and function, but be aware the wheels will only allow it to go in a straight-line direction. It works well but because of indented edges, requires me to use large cutting boards on top. Any thin smooth surface would work as long as it was large enough. It functions well with smooth easy movement of drawers and doors. It's two sided so you can get at items from either side. I had two people put it together for me and it took them less than 1/2 hour, but they were carpenters. I don't know how long it would take other people. I find it very useful in my large old fashioned farm kitchen and people have complimented it. I'm glad I purchased it. ... show more

The only thing I had to assemble were the wheels. I hate to assemble. It is very well made and quite sturdy. The two top panels lift up and taller items can be placed in the two top side drawers. This is a feature I find very handy. The drawers open both front and back which makes it excellent to use as an island. As a main style, for the ground floor of my house, I try to emmulate a 1900's Railroad Station. It fits right in with the idee fixee my decor. The wheels have a locking mechanism but, on the downside, the wheels are not steerable as the are fixed. Since I am using it in a static location steerability is not an issue for me. Very solid piece of furniture. Only assembly required is the wheels. The wheels do not swivel which makes the cart less maneuverable. Shelves are attached with screws to shelf pins.
