  • Buy this if you want an amazing monitor without breaking the bank
Style: Monitor only Size: 27 in
I absolutely love this monitor, the bezels are almost nonexistent and it is extremely thin, perfect for the small space I have to work with. It was a beautiful picture straight out of the box, and once I tweaked the image settings a bit more to my liking it is without a doubt the best bang for buck monitor I could have hoped for. The one thing that I don’t understand is why it has a volume setting when there aren’t any speakers in it, but that’s probably just a design thing and some of the higher end monitors probably have speakers and they just used leftover parts. Either way I would absolutely recommend this monitor for someone who wants a good monitor and doesn’t mind 1080p. ... show more

  • Nice, affordable monitor.
Style: Monitor only Size: 27 in
This review is for Acer SB270 27" monitor. I like the monitor the most part. There are some concerns that you can't tilt this particular model, but you can. All you need to do is have one hand on the upper bezel and one on the bottom and it will adjust. The color is nice and crisp with great definition. All in all - for $166, I say it's a great find. Let's just hope it lasts as long as my Samsung does (still going strong after 10+ years)! ... show more

  • Good monitor for the price.
Style: Monitor only Size: 27 in
Been using this monitor for a few months now, and it's great! The colors are vibrant, it's big, works seamlessly with most tech and my ps4. For the very low price at which this retails its awesome. There are however obvious downsights. Firstly, as some has noted before the monitor is slightly tilted forward, so you are viewing it at a slightly weird angle. There is also a bir of light bleed on my unit. And finally, given the 27 Inch size of the monitor the 1080 resolution starts to show. It's fine for gaming, but for productivity to some the pixels might start popping out. Finally I which the stand for this monitor was a little heftier, since it's not too hard to topple it over currently given its light plastic stand. Overall amazing device for the price, with some drawbacks to be expected. ... show more

  • good monitor, but not the best due to many little niggles
Style: Monitor only Size: 27 in
The things that attracted me to this product were the 1 ms reaction time and 75 Hz refresh rate, the size for the price, and the Acer name...in that order. Just a note so that others might learn from my experience: I thought that higher refresh rate and fast 1 ms response time would "fix" my tearing problem; no, that's more how your video hardware is driven, and you should look for ways to tweak the driver (Option "TearFree" "on" in xorg.conf in my case). The reasons a star was deducted: The controls are too close together. They could use another millimeter or two inbetween each button/switch. The power switch should be farther away still from the rest of the controls, like at least 3 times the distance, in order to very clearly distinguish it from the other controls. When I was setting the monitor up, I don't know how many times I would turn it off instead of choosing an option or adjusting a value. But no doubt some of that could be attributed to the close spacing mentioned above. The power saving state is denoted by slowly blinking the (blue) LED. I know some may say it's not much, but it wastes your time by waiting to see whether the LED stays off or on. When I look at my other monitor, it is clearly off, green, or yellow, INSTANTLY telling me the state. I know I said/wrote one of the reasons for choosing this was price, but seriously, would it cost that much more for two LEDs into a light pipe, or a dual color LED, and the requisite driver circuitry and controller programming? All the input connectors are horizontal. When you think about it, due to gravity this causes a constant small torque on each connector, especially if there are ferrite beads in your cables (ergo extra mass). If the inputs, like on many other monitors, were oriented vertically, the stress would be equal on all connections. Also think, accidentally step on cable...stresses connectors or tips monitor, where other monitors the cable just pops out. It just depends on the geometry of your installation, and if you're a klutz like me. Most other monitors have a standard IEC C13 power cable/C14 socket. This has a C5 cable plugging into a power brick with a C6 socket plus another cable from the power brick to a right angle coaxial/barrel plug. So instead of just routing one power cable, now you have to think about where the power brick needs to rest. Granted, for many installations, it'll just rest on the floor directly beneath the monitor, but considerations for this may need to be made. Plus there is the electrical engineering principle that lower part count means higher reliability; with double the power connectors, this is theoretically less reliable. I suppose this could be balanced with, if the power supply ever fails, it's not integrated into the monitor, and can be swapped out independently. At the same time, if you ever disconnect this power brick/PSU (and perhaps move them independently) you can't just plug in any old IEC C13 cable you have lying around, you have to have the PSU, and the IMO less common C5 cable. In other aspects, this is a fine monitor. I find the stand and base especially appealing for some reason. ... show more

  • Thumbs up.
Style: Monitor only Size: 27 in
Purchased this monitor for gaming. I play a game called “ For honor” and button lag is crucial to survival. Since I have got this monitor my gameplay has went the next level. I have also watch some Netflix and sports games on it as well. And it’s a still looks phenomenal. No fuzzy screen when players move fast nor when I move quickly on my game. For gamers this is a good fair price focus. ... show more

  • Pleasantly surprised! Amazing for the price.
Style: Monitor only Size: 27 in
The last time I bought a monitor was 2010, for $600. It still works and has a lot of features, but my income is no longer such that I can afford premium. I purchased this expecting something passable at best and I'm blown away. The colors, while not the best, are still vivid and defined. The viewing angle (ability to clearly see the image) is almost as good as my "old screen." I haven't noticed any lag, and it plays well with everything I've plugged into it. The weight, or lack there of, is wonderful for a chronic pain sufferer that can be hurt by something like a gallon of water. It only has one input port, because vga doesn't count (not even my grandma has anything using vga), so you can't use it as a primary screen without a switching device. Only downside I've found. ... show more

  • SB270 Series for Gaming - Love it
Style: Monitor only Size: 27 in
I won't pretend to know all about gaming monitors, but I'm not computer-stupid and I am a gamer. The specs on this monitor checked all the boxes; response time, refresh rate, color, contrast, etc. My games look beautiful. The design itself is extremely slim and lightweight, and the stand is sturdy (in fact the stand was a little difficult to snap on.) When you compare the specs on this monitor with others in the same or slightly higher price ranges, this was a solid choice at $170. FYI, I typically cross-reference computer parts purchases with newegg.com for a good frame of reference for price/performance. It helps provide a good idea about what deal you're getting, if any. ... show more
