  • Randomly shuts off during use and doesn't turn back on
Size: 27 in WQHD (2560 x 1440) Pattern Name: Monitor
I just received two of these monitors running as a 3rd and 4th monitor. One running on HDMI, the other running on DP connected to a RTX 3080. They both randomly shut off and the status light turns from blue to amber and wont turn back on without a power cycle via power plug. Tried switching ports with my two main monitors, turning on/off freesync, resetting all settings, etc. Nothing is fixing it. Submitted a question via Amazon to find out someone else is having the same exact issue. Digging deeper on Google pulls up a bunch of forum threads on Acer's community site stating the same thing with no rep from Acer addressing the issue. Must be a huge bad batch of monitors? **UPDATE** Talked to Acer support and they said I'll have to send them both in for repair and it'll take 15-20 days. Returning to Amazon instead. ... show more

  • Terrible washed out picture (and not only with HDMI)
Size: 21.5 in Pattern Name: Monitor
My older Acer monitor died suddenly, so I ordered this as a replacement, having been happy with the brand for years. What a mistake. It arrived a day late and in a much-too-large box with absolutely no padding. But those were the least of the problems. I hooked it up via an HDMI cable and the color was terribly washed out. It physically hurt to look at the screen for very long. Now, I know this happens with some monitors via HDMI connections. So I spent hours tweaking things to improve it -- the monitor's settings, Intel settings, Nvidia settings after forcing it to use that card, and switching to full RGB (because systems can mistake it for a TV and use limited RGB). It got better. But it was still a very far cry from my laptop's display, worse than my old Acer by a longshot, and you would never see actual black on the screen. There was a perpetual haze, no matter how the brightness, contrast, and gamma were set. I don't expect anything close to perfection for the price, but something this bad shouldn't have even made it to public release. If you only work in word processing and spreadsheets and email, you might be OK with that. But I write and do web development, so I need something that doesn't blind me and that can display colors properly. This just didn't cut it. If you're thinking it was solely because of the HDMI hookup, turns out that wasn't it either. A) I was able to hook up another monitor (Viewsonic) via HDMI to the same laptop and got a perfect picture. B) I hooked this monitor up to a separate desktop computer via VGA connector, and it saw barely any improvement. It was still quite washed out, and couldn't display anything resembling actual black. I'll be returning this one and a family member's already processing the order for a replacement from a different manufacturer. It's disappointing that the quality was so lacking when I've been a loyal Acer user for years. But I guess that happens sometimes. I hope this is something they fixed in other models, but I'm beyond my patience to test more from them after this experience when this was something I need here and working well before now, and now I have to play the waiting game all over again and cross my fingers the next one can get the job done. ... show more

  • Nice Monitor but Don't buy it if you use DisplayPort
Size: 27 in WQHD (2560 x 1440) Pattern Name: Monitor
This monitor is absolutely infuriating. Probably the best value for 1440p 27" that is not used, open boxed or clearanced. Made by a really good company. Look up the specs on your own.....but Don't buy this monitor if you have any desire or future plan to use its Display Port to drive it. Yes I read the reviews before I ordered. Yes I figured that those guys were doing something wrong. Yes I took the risk going in that I'd never need to use the DP connection. I was wrong on all fronts. On a MSI B450 mobo, R3600, 32G ram, M.2's, ssd's, big spinning disk computer currently sporting a GTX1660. A modern hardware set. THE Monitor WILL NOT wake from sleep with the DP. IT Will Not. I've done my own exhaustive research. Drivers, settings, cable swaps. No Go. Works 100% from HDMI, crap from DP. Didn't matter until a friend gave me a older gen VR google set that needed HDMI. My GPU only has the 1 hdmi. SO I need to go to DP for the monitor to open up the other for VR. Nope, I want to through my coffee mug through the monitor. I've been On with Acer. I actually, and I hated doing this, let them remote in to my PC and 'update the Nvidia driver.' They really made me feel like an Idiot at Acer tech that there is something wrong with my PC. 2 other smaller monitors that have DP were tested with out errors. It continues to lock the screen with a orange power light showing sleep. Buttons on the monitor wont wake it. You have to literally pull the power cord, and wait the full 10 seconds for the capacitors to drain. If you don't wait it will power back up in sleep and frozen mode. Im probably past the return date. I piutched the box couple weeks ago, thinking I was happy with the HDMI solution until the VR dropped in my lap. Gonna try Acer one last time. But this ranting review had to be made. Sorry Acer I really dig you guys but this one is a POS. Please I'm going to tryu ... show more

Looks good. Works good. And I really love the preset brightness modes, they help a lot when I get eye strain. Overall, great deal for an awesome monitor.

  • Washed Out Super Bright BAD Picture Quality
Size: 21.5 in Pattern Name: Monitor
Please read before buying! Wish I read more reviews. If your buying this to just word process, maybe, but for video or gaming, move on! I'm using another old Acer LCD many years old, and this new monitor is sooo bad, angry at myself for wasting my time. Thought this was a bargain, boy was I wrong. Set it up with hdmi cord (not included), and omg the brightness was way out of control. Anything black was grey at best, no settings could fix it, not with monitor controls or with nvidia control panel. Even tried it with a vga cord, no better. Picture quality is just terrible. Packing up to send back! I do not recommend unless you just need a monitor to make it through the day. ... show more
