I tend to always pick things up the wrong way and pulling something in my lower back at least once a year. This brace is great for keeping my posture straight and helping with the pain in my back. The material is breathe able and somewhat cool. I live in a hot area and during the summer time you will sweat no matter how breathe able the fabric is. The rounded edges on this brace make it more comfortable when wearing it and it does not dig into your skin when bending over. As for the size, I wear a size 38-40 pants and this fit just right. Washing was easy but I did make sure that the Velcro was secure so that it would not stick to other pieces of clothing in the wash. I did not put this in the dryer but instead let it air dry for fear that it would shrink. I have worn it both day and night and it really helped with the healing process. ... show more

I'm 70 years old. 15 years ago I had major back surgery for 3 herniated discs. It was successful, but as I've grown older, I've found a need for a good back brace for comfort in everyday movement. I can't tell you how many brands and styles I bought, and none of them fit my individual need for comfort, fit, and most of all, support. Then about 4 years ago a friend recommended this one. She let me try hers on, and I was sold! I paid a very high price for my first one. As time went on, I wanted one for a backup when gently washing the one I had. By then I knew more about online buying, so I decided to check amazon.com. Not only did I get a great lower price, but to backup my "backup's", but as of now have 3 of them.....and I plan on buying another one soon. You never know when a company might decide to discontinue an item, and I rely on this as my mobility savior. Can't do without it. Whether this will be your first brace, or if you're not happy with the one you have, do yourself (and your back) a favor, please check this one out. Being in a wheelchair for some 20 odd years, due to back injury, you can believe I have worn my share of back supports. I have tried all shapes, models, strap ons, tie ons, you name it. Who would have thought, Ace, the name you can trust has made this gem. It's thin, sturdy, breathable; in some places, mostly where it counts. After strapping it on I could feel my back popping back into place, what a joy. The Velcro fastener is well made, fastens, and tears off with ease. It's not bulky, barely noticed after putting on shirt. If back support is what you need, keep in mind that your bending will be limited with this one, I do highly recommend this one. I wear a size 37 in waist and there room to spare when wrapped around my waist. How it holds up is yet to see, will update in about two weeks. As someone who has tested out and tried many different back braces in the past it is amazing what a simple product like this can do. Weather you are going to use it for working out, everyday use, or just for the house, I would recommend it. This back brace is also adjustable so it really does not make a difference how big or small you are.
