Description

An ACDelco GM Original Equipment Ignition Coil is a GM-recommended replacement for your vehicle’s original component, and undergoes more stringent testing than aftermarket products. It increases electrical system voltage to help ignite the air/fuel mixture as the starting and charging system starts the engine, maintains the battery's charge, and provides power to the electrical accessories while the engine is running. An ACDelco GM OE Ignition Coil uses pure copper windings to improve durability and provide higher resistance to internal shorts and dielectric breakdown. Because the number and shape of the laminations determine the output characteristics of an ignition coil, ACDelco ensures that the silicone steel plates surrounding the coil correctly match the original part size and number. Since steel laminations work best when they are new, shiny, and clean, ACDelco laminations are coated to hinder corrosion and many feature molded plastic protection to help ensure that nothing is exposed. Compared it to the one that I pulled out they are absolutely identical to factory part. Extremely easy to install. In 5 minutes my misfire was gone. I figured it was the coil pack instead of the spark plugs because my friend took it out for me once before and found that one of the springs inside the coil pack was not maintaining its integrity with the spark plug. The misfiring got better once he straightened it out and after a period of time it got a lot worse so when I replaced the coil pack just now, misfires and rough idle are gone! AutoZone wanted a 120 to $160, save yourself a hundred bucks and buy this! ... show more

This ignition coil is easy to install. The only problem I had was in removing the old coil. The old coil needed to be replaced because my Cruze was loosing power, and misfiring going up the slightest hill. When the old coil was remove, one spark plug boot had disintegrated and a white powder like substance covered the plug. A second problem was that another spark plug wire had detached from the coil. This replacement coil (along with a new set of plugs) fixed the problem. I've put over 700 miles since the replacement, and the car is running better then it every has been. ... show more

I removed old coil pack and dropped this one in on new spark plugs with some boot jelly installed for future removal ease! the old coil was actually falling apart in the first plug hole! installed the new one and it fit perfect and once I started up the car the engine ran smooth as silk! the fuel economy increased as well on the car by 4 mpg. I am concidering repeating this process on my 2014 volt as well! ... show more
