  • Finally found the right stuff
This is my second diff. fluid changed in my 77 corvette. The first time I used AC Delco "Dexron 75W-90 Gear Lube" with the 4 oz limited slip treatment. This caused my differential to pop, groan, and make crazy noises after heating up and making turns from a stop. I tried this stuff which is NOT a synthetic fluid. I added the 4 oz limited slip treatment again and all the noises are gone. Both type of fluid I used looked so similar and were both AC delco brand, but I must have overlooked the subtle differences in the title. If you have an old car like mine, DO NOT put the AC delco synthetic fluid in it. Go with this "axle lubricant"! ... show more

  • Great gear oil
I recently replaced the rear differential housing cover on my 99 LS1 Camaro, so I figured I would change the gear oil as well since I wasn't sure if it's been done before by the previous owner. I no longer hear any clunking sounds or any other unusual noises coming from the rear end anymore.. It looks like it might have had royal purple synthetic gear oil in it before since the old oil had a purplish tinge when I drained it. As far as I know, Auburn differentials for my car don't really like synthetic, so I'm glad I changed it out. Don't forget to purchase the 4oz GM additive as well, especially if your car is automatic, it's required. ... show more
