We had to replace our shutters (our original shutters had the wineberry color and were 26 years old). When we saw this Board and Batten design, it caught my eye immediately so I ordered two pairs of them in the same wineberry color - with them destined for the front of our home (both first and second floor). Installation is simple, especially on the first floor. But installing them on the 2nd floor took much more effort. I'm 75 and managed to get my 26' latter up to the 2nd story window. I then had my son hand me the shutters, while my wife had her hands out of the window, holding them in place while I went to drill - that took some effort because it was windy and these shutters are quite light. So although the first floor took only 30 - 45 minutes to attach, the 2nd floor expectantly, took almost 2 hours. In the end, they look absolutely great - but the real test will come after a year or so, because down here in North Carolina - in that heavy afternoon summer heat - I will be curious to see if the shutters fade or oxidize (which my previous ones did early often). The thought of having to climb a ladder to the 2nd story level, just to apply a vinyl protectorant every now and then, is not a task that I would cherish. We had shutters for 13 years on the front of the house and finally decided to add some to the side. We ordered the same brand as had been installed by the builder. Yes, we were surprised to find out that they were vinyl, but the original ones look almost like new and have never required any maintenance. So, we ordered the same ones. They are made in the USA and are of good quality, They are also good value, very easy to install and look great. Except for you, no one will ever know that they are vinyl. So, why pay more and worry about maintenance? ... show more

We got the Board & Batten style shutters and installed into brick/mortar in less than an hour. They look great-will watch to see if color stays consistent over time and update review. They supply 2 style mounting screws depending on house material. On brick, just use mortar drill bit to depth of 2.25” and the plastics screws fill the hole and hold tight. The height of the shutter determines if you need 4 or 6 screws. Happy with the look and ease to install-will know about durability and color consistency over time. ... show more

Not most expensive looking item if you inspect it up close but no one really does and they gave windows some curb appeal. For relatively low cost and effort. Worth it for the cost although no t sure how long they will last.

    • Cheap, came scuffed up with a return slip from the last customer... Steer clear.

They came all scuffed up, so now dealing with that headache. Had the return slip and address of the last guy who went through the same thing in the box still when I opened it, so they just re-shipped them out knowing they are damaged for me to have to deal with it now. The product itself is very disappointing when it came in, not like the pictures at all. Super cheap and flimsy, horrible purchase and horrible company to charge you to return this horrible product and restocking fee. ... show more

This is my #1 go to brand for paintable vinyl shutters. They are a pretty standard vinyl material for shutters. We have also used the PlyGem brand shutters and the thickness is very similar. Just remember that these are not wood or pvc, which will be harder products. These are a great value and they last. There is no warping and they were easy to paint and install. I love these shutters and I will continue to offer them as shutter option on my home builds. ... show more
