  • Worth it
Good purchase, very durable

  • Look elsewhere
Very poor construction and flawed design. The holes don't line up so have a drill handy. The detents to hold the bead breaker don't hold and fail under pressure, so again have the drill handy. The top ring is too large to allow a 16" wheel to rest on it, even with the cheap plastic guards removed. The center hold-down bolt is too short and doesn't have any kind of spacer or washer for the top, so you will damage the wheel bearing from direct contact with the top wing nut. This seems to be a very poor copy of a Tusk unit, and it's a complete waste of money. I got tired of trying to modify it so it would work for me, and tossed it into the metal scrap bin. Absolute garbage. ... show more

  • Pay under $100 and you get a cheap, but workable, tool
Box was packed so loosely my wife thought there were broken plates in it. All the parts were included and small parts in sealed bags. The alignment of the steel straps connecting the bottom ring to the top ring were ok, but slightly off (irritating if like me you like things straight and symmetrical) when you connect them. I had 4 of the strap bolts strip before they were even tight (replaced with 1/4 x 20 bolts on I had on hand in my garage). The centerline bolt turns out to be way off center of the (almost) circular top ring. I had to elongate one of the rear mounting holes and widen the front one almost 1/4" to get it to be roughly in the center of the top ring. There is a crazy amount of slop in the fitment between the pivot arm and the mounting bracket that I remedied with 4 washers (this is not needed, but allows enough tension for the arm to remain in whatever position you leave it in rather than it always wanting to be either all the way back or down. The 4 plastic guards are a joke when I put my 17" front wheel on it. Thankfully it was an old bent rim/tire I was experimenting with. I am still looking to add padding before I attempt the wheels/tires from my motorcycle. I also made a wooden block to go under the center stud wing nut to hold down the wheel during operation as there is nothing but the wingnut to do that (and that isn't wide enough to clamp down the wheel. There is also a pin called a 'leverage pin' that I have no idea what it is supposed to do or go. No instructions for use, just a diagram showing the unit installed and also a schematic of how it goes together with the parts labeled (that's how I figured out the pin is called a 'leverage pin')! All that being said, the tool does do the job of breaking the bead off the rim as advertised. Welds are pretty good, paint is ok, quality is a little better than poor when you figure the amount of modification I've already done. I am only keeping it because I won't use it but maybe once a year and it is cheaper than having a dealer or shop do them. ... show more

  • Tire changer
Worked great when I changed my rear tire on my 2016 Harley Sportster would recommend if you do your maintenance on your on bike

  • breaks beads
this was a little tough to assemble by myself, broke the bead on my motorcycle tire had to walk it around but it got the job done. I like this tool better than using a 5 gal bucket as some do. it is a real helping hand.

  • Not so good
Couple bolts were stripped, the rings don’t really line up, had to bend the connections just to get the bolts in. Don't tighten anything down til you get them all in. Mine tilts too far to the left making it impossible to break the bead unless I use a 2x4 under my rim to hold that side. Rim doesn’t lay flat and keeps slipping off center if I don’t. I made it work for now, but will definitely be getting a better one and throwing this thing out before long. ... show more

  • Junk
Do not buy this, parts are cheaply made & can't withstand the pressure when applied. The bead breaker basically broke & the screw holding it.....stripped. Definitely do not buy.........
