Features

  • Built to Last: These heavy-duty eye bolts are meticulously drop forged, not wire-stamped, providing unparalleled strength. Seamlessly designed, they are solid with no weld points, eliminating the risk of breaking common with seamed alternatives. The highly polished finish adds both aesthetics and longevity.
  • Uncompromised Strength: These large eye hooks, designed for heavy-duty use, are constructed from marine-grade 316 stainless steel. Their robust build ensures remarkable carrying capacity, making them ideal for high-load projects without deformation.
  • Effortless Installation: Designed for user-friendliness, these eyebolts are easy to install. We recommend securing them to wooden objects like frame beams, plywood, or trees. If mounting on concrete, ensure proper anchors for a secure setup. If strain is along axis of the eyebolt then load is 650 lbs max per bolt(4 bolts load totaling 2600 lbs).
  • Versatile Assurance: With this 316 stainless steel marine-grade hanging hardware kit, you can confidently hang hammocks, yoga swings, Brazilian hammocks, tree hammocks, and swing chairs outdoors. Rest assured that you and your loved ones can enjoy safe and relaxing moments for years to come.
  • Comprehensive Peace of Mind: Our marine grade hanging kit promises durability, sturdiness, and safety. It's engineered to withstand the elements and deliver long-lasting reliability, ensuring that your relaxation endeavors remain worry-free.

  • hoisting to rafters
In the past, I wanted to get my riding mower up on blocks to work on the deck. The heavy end is 200 pounds. I bought a 500 pound chain hoist and an eye bolt rated at 2200 pounds to attach through a 4 x 4. I saw that hoisting an ebike could make work easier. If I used a rafter, I wouldn't have to set anything up as I did with the 4 x 4, and I could work under cover. I tried a 1/4 inch eye bolt that could be secured through a hole to a washer and nut. The drawbacks were obvious. It was rated at 100 pounds, which would limit its use. Horizontally, it could bend with less than the rated load. Besides, a bike hanging from one point would be unstable. I bought these, rated at 660 pounds and pointed down to avoid lateral force. I've read that a 5/16 lag screw will hold against 1,000 pounds. I chose a pilot bit the same size as the minor diameter of the threads. Then I used a larger bit for a snug fit on the shoulder, marking the bit with tape so I wouldn't go more than an inch deep. The snug shoulder helps protect the threaded portion from lateral forces. One photo shows the chain hoist clipped to one of these eyebolts, a few inches from the undesirable 1/4 inch eyebolt. Another photo shows the chain hoist roped to a point where it takes most of the bike's weight. I used parachute cord to hang the handlebars from another eye bolt. In the photo, the tail of the chain is in the way. To hang the excess chain, I put a lag screw two feet from each eye bolt. The third photo shows that the lag screw is also handy for tying off cord used for hoisting. Here, I hoisted the handlebars to get the front wheel a foot off the ground to facilitate checking and adjusting spokes. Three lines suspend the bars. If that end weighs 21 pounds, there's only 7 pounds of tension of the cord, so there's not much lateral force on the eye bolt. I found that if I tipped or turned the bars, cord friction would hold them where I wanted. A chain hoist is safer for heavy loads, but for something pretty light like an ebike, a cord is quicker to set up and it lets me raise the load to the rafters if, for example, I want to work on a derailleur. Hoisting a bicycle or similar item would also allow a wheelbarrow or mower to be parked below it. ... show more

  • Awesome
Feels heavy duty, had great wright and size. Didn't buy these for a hammock but rather as a hinge for a wooden gate door attached to a 2 3/8" metal fence post with chain link Male hinge strap, if that makes sense. Not really sure what you call it. But it all worked out great though.
