U-bolts and base plates are high strength steel, but the lock nuts are of very poor quality! Each one stripped after being threaded up the bolt before they even contact the base plate! They bound up so bad that they couldn’t be backed off they had to be cut off! Horrible experience!

They are stainless and look like it. The washers and nuts look good, but the nylon nuts were threaded incorrectly. I used an impact to run the nuts down but after about one inch the nuts bound up. I tried to back them out but I ended up cutting them off. I purchased new nuts at the local hardware store and they worked great. ... show more
