Description

Visit the Store Visit the Store Visit the Store Several parts make up an exhaust system, including the manifold, flex pipe, catalytic converter, muffler, and the resonator. The purpose of a resonator, similar to a muffler, is to alter the engine noise before exiting the vehicle. But a little difference between the muffler and the resonator. The resonator is placed before the muffler and can be thought of as a "pre-muffler" that prepares the noise before it enters the muffler. Helps reduce high frequency engine noise. In particular, installing the resonator results in an aggressive sound after a process called "muffler delete". With this resonator, it becomes a low aggressive sound with no rasp on the top end. Without the resonator in "muffler delete", the rasp would be horrible at high RPM.

I installed both resonators on my 1978 Trans Am in about an hour. It was simple partly because the product is exactly what it stated. The measurements of the inside diameter of the pipes allowed my mid-pipes to slide right inside. The previous owner installed a great exhaust system but it was too loud for my taste. At low RPMs there is no noticeable difference. But, at higher RPMs, it took out all the raspy crap sound that made my Datsun 280Z sound horrible. Worth every penny, and a great price!

Looks and performs great. Turned my loud exhaust into a nice rumble. No drone noise what so ever. The finish is a nice polished look that should be rust resistant - time will tell.

Fantastically built. Used this in line with a magnaflow muffler for a custom Exhaust on a Jeep JKU. It sounds perfect for a V6, not Ricey at all.

Used these on a coyote swapped 95 Mustang. Built some custom boom tubes and you can here this car from miles away. Doesn't sound like your typical straight piped 5.0, sounds way deeper and got rid of most of that obnoxious rasp (as much as you can on a mufflerless V8) sounded so good i bought a second set for my truck and wasn't disappointed there either. I recommend the 16" verson though, the 12" doesn't get as much of the rasp out. ... show more

Great for cutting down drone/rasp after header install. This only knocks down the overall noise by about 2-3dBm so don't expect this to quiet down your rowdy redneck special. It does effectively knock down the low-mid range frequency most associated with drone so if you want your headache to go away on long trips, toss one of these on there before the muffler. ... show more
