  • Seems to show proper charging
I tried using the load output on this but it would just shutdown like it's overloaded. Using 4 small individual leds in parallel. So I can't use that part of the circuit, but charging seems to work fine.

  • Very impressive little charger/boost converter
I bought these to use with 3.7V li Ion batteries and Arduino micro controllers. It's a nice clean circuit board that is well labeled and works very well. Removing my 5V source (USB in my case) and letting my arduino get 5V from the battery/boost circuit appeared to have no switchover time. Powering the circuit while charging the battery also worked fine. It's one of the best tiny boost and charger boards I've found and I plan to use them going forward for all my circuits. ... show more

  • Good charger, large parasitic current
I've used these modules in many battery applications. They charge the batteries just fine, the voltage is boosted to 5V with no problems. The button to turn it on an off works fine. I use the solder pad for the button to my microcontrollers. There are two issues that make it quite unusable. First, the output gets cut off too early, before the battery falls below 3.5V. Second is that the module consumes power even while off. a 2200mAh battery will be drained completely in just 3 days with nothing attached to the module. Meter shows fluctuating 2.2-3V on the output while the module is off. So in short, if you use these to make a battery charger for 18650 of lipo packs, they will work perfectly. as a controller for any battery powered circuits, these will not work. ... show more

Great little charge, protection and boost board. No short circuit protection so be warned they are easy to fry but so inexpensibe it really doesn't matter.

  • Charges at 2A, exactly what I needed.
Does exactly what I needed. I got this to charge a battery pack, as the TP4056 (1A) was too slow. The 2A charging rate was spot on. I did not use the discharge function, so I am unable to comment on that.
