so far this phone is great, the screen quality looks good ,the storage and ram is amazing, the projector works wonderfully. the only issue is it heats up but that's to be expected since it's bulky and heavy duty style. the phone isn't too heavy and the sound quality and volume is absolutely amazing even for projecting. I'm not sure how it handles higher end games since I haven't played any on it yet but basic games you would find play fine on the phone. it has a built in fan and a great battery which means it is probably really good with higher end games but if it heats up I suggest putting it infront of an ac to keep it cool. if you buy one of these you won't have to worry about it falling out of a pocket in a sofa and not knowing about it since you would 100% feel it. also infared night vision camera...nuff said

I've owned my tank 4 pro for about 3 weeks now, and it is a really nice. For starters, it is running Android 15. Diversion I bought has 18 GB of ram and one terabyte of on-board storage. I put in a 1 TB micro SD card for extra storage. I also turned on the virtual RAM feature, and maxed it out to 18 GB. Virtual ram uses onboard storage to emulate physical ram. The feature I use the most on my tank 4 Pro is its built-in projector. The projector will autofocus whatever image I am displaying through it. I use the projector to watch various YouTube videos when I am not in the same room as my TV. Because there is only one speaker on the phone, and it is located at the bottom rear, if I am not careful I can inadvertently muffle the sound. In terms of battery life, the lowest I have ever been able to drain the phone with regular use is draining the battery to 31%. Binormal use, I am talking about primarily running the projector for a few hours every night on about 90% projector brightness. I can usually get by with not having to plug the tank for Pro into the wall for about three days. Because I do not use the included charger brick that came with the phone, charging takes a little longer for me. While I was able to add the phone to my T-Mobile account, it was not as straightforward as I would have liked. That was not due to an issue with the phone, but with incorrect information I received from T-Mobile support. According to T-Mobile, the tank 4 Pro will only attain 4G speeds on their network. I was ultimately able to add a physical SIM card to the phone. In terms of value for money paid, I personally feel it was a good purchase. I bought my tank 4 Pro as a tablet replacement. The build quality of this phone is excellent in my opinion. It is a solid chunk of a phone. I ended up buying a silicone case for mine, and it looks very nice in the case. I have attached some photos to my review, detailing what the screen looks like as well as the measurements of the phone. UPDATE (about one week before return window closes): The touch screen on the phone has become unresponsive about half the time. This makes using the phone very difficult. As much as I liked using the phone, because of what I paid for it I do not want to run any risk of it failing after the return window closes. I have since filed a return with Amazon, and shipped the phone back.

The phone is cool af, don't get me wrong. All of the bells and whistles make it a bad@ss device, however it gets hot FAST. Even under regular use, just watching YouTube, with ZERO additional apps running in the background, it would heat up to where I had to run the internal fan at all times. The sound quality is very good. Cameras are as well. However I had issues establishing straight talks service. It would work for texts and calls but data was unusable and group messaging was not allowed. Straight talk was unable to create a profile for the device, and it ended up not being compatible. It has been returned.

In the process of returning the phone, the phone keeps rebooting even after factory reset . It gotten to the point where I can't watch anything because it will freeze and reboot. Very frustrated because I really wanted the phone. Update 4/22/26. I did two factory resets and the phone has not frozen and reboot it since. 8849 was outstanding and reaching out to me to replace the phone. I have raised my one star to five Star just because of my experience with their customer service. I could have returned this phone and got another one but I'm not sure if the problem would have persisted in different models because I have not heard of anybody else having this experience so that was my decision on keeping this particular unit. It is the most unique piece of tech I've owned besides the note 20 ultra before it was canned. Once again thank you 8849 for the offer.

The only cons with this phone I've found after 6 months of daily use is the weight and bulk. Everyone knows this going in just like I did (pretty obvious). Once you can adjust to this, it's literally a Swiss army knife of smartphones with everything imaginable. The battery only needs charging maybe once a week on lite-to-normal use. The biggest issue I have right now is with the manufacturer honoring their "warranty" as my phone is having auto-focus issues in 1x only and phone isn't damaged nor exposed to water (regardless l, it's advertised as dust proof, shockproof and waterproof). I've emailed them May 31st, June 10th and June 20th. They finally responded June 21st but stating: "In order to assist you in resolving the issue more quickly and effectively, we suggest that you communicate with the merchant you purchased regarding after-sales matters." Well, when you go through the "Get Support" via my phone order from Dec 2025, it drops me to 8849's Amazon store page that redirects me to their website, which provides the email I've been using. Talk about passing the buck to someone else even though it's you. I'll update my review if they ever come back to me with help on replacement or something.

The 8849 Tank Pro is not fully compatible with Verizon as advertised. The internet can be accessed only in the presence of a WiFi hotspot, which means that GPS is not available where one needs it most. The Verizon tech team did not resolve this issue. Despite this, the phone has many good features that I like, so I will keep it.

Getting used to it. This phone fixes two problems for me: I'm sick of charging my phone everywhere I go - it's on the charger. The TANK goes days - no problem, only falling to 50% after 8 straight hours of screen time. But I still get nervous below 20% when I still have a whole day. Second - I'm always leaving my phone laying around and lose it. The TANK cannot be left behind or tossed into a hidden crack. You can't carry this around in your pocket without a belt holding your pants up. It takes care and time to set this down and pick it up and I do pay attention and hold on with both hands so I don't fall off! I swapped the SIM from my old T-Mobile phone into this one and it took straight off running! No problem, just like the old days. No need to upgrade the memory in this above the 1 TB already on-board, the TANK holds it all. The screen is super clear and bright. The cameras are just OK, if you're used to an Apple or Samsung, you'll hate this part. Focus and zoom work in mysterious ways that contradict what feels normal with a standard Galaxy and I get a bad picture almost every time. But there will be plenty of storage for your badly focused, blurry night vision images. Online, the TANK is a beast, dragging down data faster than T-Mobile allows - above 250 Mb/sec on 5G inside my steel cage. No bloatware with this phone, nada and it's nice. The phone app in Android 14 has never been worse and makes this "phone" seem like a "Want" more than a "Need" when you have to whip it out and use it. Early in on this experience but liking it so far. At this price, I don't expect more than about a year from this anyway. No idea what support can be expected from 8849 when Android 14 gets dusty.
